ITS A KNOCKOUT Floats like a butterfly and Stings like a Bee at Rosehill
ITS A KNOCKOUT Floats like a butterfly and Stings like a Bee at Rosehill

It takes a
very
promising horse
to go through their first racing preparation, having
3
starts all in the metropolitan area, winning two and runner-up
in the other.
IT'S A KNOCKOUT wins Race 2 at Rosehill
So, it is
with a
smile on our dial
,
we have sent
our Dynamic mare
IT’S A KNOCKOUT
(4yo m Dundeel x Sport Chic)
out to the paddock on a high on Monday morning for a short few weeks let-up, as we prepare the full sister to
Dealmaker
- a retired, previously successful racehorse, as we set ambitious targets for her next time through.
IT'S A KNOCKOUT was in a different class on Saturday at Rosehill

Our simple instructions
carried out to perfection by
Dynamic Team Member and jet pilot
TIM CLARK
were
“Straight to the front and improve on your position.”
Originally accepted for a race at Canterbury last Wednesday,
Adam Watt at Dynamic
always had in the back of his mind the mare should be better suited up in class, down in weight and taking on her own sex for significantly more prizemoney, and our mare proved his assessment correct with an eased down effort that was just outside the
Class Record
.
On paper the race looked void of true speed and with our mare a
free bowling type,
we elected to run along in an easy rhythm and with her light weight, we turn the race into a sit and sprint affair. The plan came off perfectly
allowing connections to bank another
$82,500
prize cheque.
After the gates clanged back,
IT’S A KNOCKOUT
came out evenly with the field but after the first 50m she was in front, and the race was as good as over from that point and she was never headed.
IT’S A KNOCKOUT
followed the rail and controlled the sectionals. She peeled off an
11.30
from the 1400m to the 1200m. Then having established her position, she eased back to an
11.65
split from the 1200m to the 1000m. Tim then peeled off a leisurely
12.06
from the 1000m to the 800m saving fuel and followed that with an
11.94
from the 800m to the 600m. That made it a sit and sprint home. With these easy early sectionals in the bank, Tim was able to quicken, with the next two slick sections of an
11.32
from the 600 to the 400m and the same
11.32
from the 400m to the 200m. That broke the hearts of those chasing who had given her a big head start and simply couldn’t match motors the final 200m where she was a length and a half in front and maintained that margin despite an eased down running an
11.70
split to the post.
IT'S A KNOCKOUT was low flying !
Such was her
dominance
that Tim was able to sit up over the final 100m and go to the line under no pressure for the final 30m to claim the
1.5 length win
over her stablemate Vivy Air to win the Merrylands RSL Club Handicap (1500m).
Racecaller Darren Flindell
called it over the final stages:
“IT’S A KNOCKOUT is going boldly in the lead, IT’S A KNOCKOUT from Vivy Air, IT’S A KNOCKOUT going boldly to the line, and IT’S A KNOCKOUT – that’s the name of the game, beat Vivy Air and Mountain Top. IT’S A KNOCKOUT, Tim Clark.”
Well Done Son ! Dean & Fiona congratulate Adam on the astute race placement
Greg Radley
then joined in to summarise the race:
“IT’S A KNOCKOUT – number 10, IT’S A KNOCKOUT – Tim Clark and Ciaron Maher, have scored over the stablemate, Vivy Air and James McDonald and Mountain Top will be third, McEvoy on for Waller. IT’S A KNOCKOUT goes all the way.”
Returning to Scale
IT'S A KNOCKOUT in the WINNERS STALL with Tim Clark + Adam Dean & Fiona - Team Dynamic
Sky Central commentator Ron Dufficy
chimed-in:
“I think she’s alright; I think she’s alright! She’s got a nice future this mare, I like her style, I like her guts and determination. When you ask her for an effort she finds, and she hasn’t done too much wrong in her first racing preparation. So I think she’s got a lot to offer, not just with her style, but I think a bit of stamina there, and a pedigree to get even better with this preparation underneath her belt. Vivy Air you would have thought she was going to cruise up halfway down the straight, but I just think the winner kept running there, Mountain Top travelled keenly battled on okay, but I like the winner, she’s got a real nice future.”
Next
Greg Radley
grabbed
Ciaron Maher’s Sydney Stable Assistant Trainer Johann Gerard-Dubord
and said
“a quinella there for Ciaron Maher.”
Johann Gerard-Dubord - Assistant Trainer at Warwick Farm
Aussie Joh
answered:
“Yes, both mares were very good. IT’S A KNOCKOUT she’s had a great prep, she keeps improving, another one for Dynamic (Syndications), they are having a very good time lately. Obviously, it does help when she can put herself there on speed. She has got a very good racing style.
"She is a typical Dundeel, she will keep improving, she will stay further. She overdid it a touch last time, but she relaxed a lot better today and just kept going."
Greg Radley then said,
“And with that pedigree and her front running style, she’s going to be hard to run down in a lot of races.”
Joh added:
“Yeah, 100%, she will be. Wet tracks will only help her. So, a good prep, and we will just see how she comes through that, and probably we will give her a freshen-up now, she’s done a terrific job.”
Johann Gerard-Dubord concluded to the media later:
“She had a few issues early days, and she only came into work very late. She has done a good job.”
“There is a race like The Wave in Queensland in January that could be a good race for her, but we wanted to get her rating up and that's why we kept going.”
Tim Clark - jet pilot
Greg Radley interviewed
Tim Clark
:
“Yeah, she took a little bit longer to muster today than the other day, she was really immediate there at Randwick, but today it took her a little bit longer to muster speed, but once she got there and was able to control, it was pretty plain sailing from there.
“She’s a mare that I think she’s going to continue to improve, and stretch out over further, I just would like to see her relax a little bit better through the middle stages where she does get to the longer trips.”
Greg Radley and Ron Dufficy
then summarised the race in their
Sunday morning review programme.
Striding out with ease
Greg started by stating;
“In the second, it was a stylish win for IT’S A KNOCKOUT in the Dynamic Syndications colours, in front where Tim Clark likes to be, and didn’t give the others a look-in.”
Ron Dufficy stated:
“Here’s another improving horse, I quite like her. I think she’s got more to offer as well. I love her style, I love her fight, and when you ask her for an effort, she lifts. So to do this in her first racing preparation, not to the extremes of the other filly (Autumn Glow) but there’s something about her I like. I like a lot. It’s not all going to happen for her now, but I think she’s got a good future, and the pedigree says that as well.”

$150,000 yearling purchase
for Dynamic Syndications / Dean Watt Bloodstock at the Magic Millions
two years ago,
IT’S A KNOCKOUT
has two city wins, at Kensington in a mid-week Super Maiden over 1400m on debut, and then a Randwick 0.3 length second place in a Bm72. Now she has won a Bm78 over 1500m at Rosehill across her three-start debut race preparation and has seem her Benchmark Rating increase to a Bm72.

Importantly we enjoy owning and racing the progeny of
DUNDEEL
and
IT’S A KNOCKOUT
is a typical example of what this sire can produce.
We are particularly upbeat about our new season 2yo we purchased for the
Ciaron Maher Team
from the multiple stakes winning mare
PRECIOUS LORRAINE.
A tremendous racehorse, she is also a successful broodmare. Our 2yo colt is a half-brother to three winners including the
Stakes Winner MEUSE.
Our now 2yo Colt by DUNDEEL x PRECIOUS LORRAINE with Shane Rose in the saddle
We have just
one only
2.5% Share
available
to complete the co-ownership team which
includes Magic Millions boss
Gerry Harvey
who increased his holding from
25% to 35%
after reports started filtering through just how well our colt broke-in under saddle for Shane Rose.
Our 2.5% Share is
$6,790
inc GST and all costs to date.
With his super pedigree he could be a real top line prospect by the way he broke-in and has gone through his sessions of pre-training to date.
We invite you to join our
Dynamic Gerry & Ciaron Team
in our superb
DUNDEEL 2yo Colt.
