Yet when the biggest tick comes from Australia’s Best Horseman & Multiple Olympic Medalist – SHANE ROSE who Broke-In and Educated the Colt then sent him through his first round of re-education and pre-training, you can’t get a better endorsement.

Early-days Shane declared to us the Colt was “a bit of a slow burn to take up the idea of what to do before the penny dropped” but then the colt quickly progressed all the way through to becoming the
DUX of the CLASS for 2025.
After the conclusion of this colt’s breaking-in and education, Shane was interviewed on video for our owners and in Shane’s typical Aussie larrikin style said:
“An interesting horse. When he started, he was 'slug!' And I didn’t really warm to him, but then the more he’s done, the better he’s felt, and at the end, he was probably for me, as nice a horse, probably the nicest one to feel. Really strong, the more work he got, the better he got.
“Obviously, he’s bred to go over a distance, but the more you give him the better he’s going to get. He’s got a great attitude, whatever we did he got along with, and in the end, he felt enormous, he got stronger and stronger, nice, big, easy action, yeah a really nice horse.
“For him (out of the gates) once he got the idea to jump and run, he went ‘Oh hang on, this is quite fun,’ and really got strong, felt quite strong and powerful and on the last day we jumped him out, it was like, wow, this is a much different horse than we had at the start, he felt great.”
The following week Shane reported to us: “He’s a sensational mover, highly intelligent colt who’s a natural athlete. He just wants to please me and do more and more, each and every time. I think he is a really nice horse, so smart, everything he does is effortless. He’s my top pick amongst a really good crop this year. I have liked them all.”
“I also especially like your Artemis Rose colt (by Exceed And Excel). He’s your natural jump and run 2yo who won’t surprise me if makes the field in the Millions or Slipper. He’s shown me a lot already, he’s your natural racehorse. He’s ready to go into Warwick Farm to continue his journey.”

“He’s got such a great attitude, whatever you ask him to do, it’s like ‘yeah – righto!’ He feels really strong for a horse that’s so relaxed, he actually does feel so strong, and once you give him a bit of a touch-up, he feels like he’s got a bit of power under him which is great. A simple, straight forward horse, that you will be able to do anything you want with him which is going to be helpful as a 2yo. Obviously (Golden Slipper) it’s an early race, they can’t have things go against them, if you can work with them and they can work with you, then you’re on the right path; off to the right start.”

Shane then reported to us “I have liked each of these colts we have broken-in later in the season, but there seems something uniquely special about your YOU'RE SO GOOD Colt. If I had the opportunity, if I could, I would take a share in both the Artemis Rose and the You’re So Good but that’s beyond me at the moment to have both, but I will definitely take a share in the You’re So Good and race him with you. And if things work out in the next few weeks for me, then I will also grab a share in the Artemis Rose.”
Shane asked Adam to visit the farm on Monday morning, 7th July and have a look at our colts under saddle who have just completed their pre-training sessions.

Shane was interviewed by Adam on video and said of our PALACE PIER x YOU’RE SO GOOD Colt: “He’s lovely. He’s a horse that I have liked at every stage really. He just feels really powerful, he’s got a nice straight action, he’s got a great attitude, he feels like he wants to go already, he’s a lovely horse, I’m really happy with him. He’s certainly a horse I think could go earlier than I think his pedigree would suggest.”
