On Saturday 29 May, the
Dynamic Ownership Team that race
JAZIRAT were back in the
Winners Circle when resuming from a spell, their mare produced a tremendous victory.
The training
wizardry of Newcastle based
JASON DEAMER was on display as he waved his wand to present our
4yo mare JAZIRAT in forward enough condition to stave off her peers first-up over the demanding 1615m trip in a Class 1 and Maiden Plate event on a Heavy 9 track.
First-up runs are hard for any horse but
at a mile on a bog, that is something else.
A gem of a ride by local hero
Ben Looker helped, and the tenacity of
JAZIRAT was on display.
She was
badly checked at the 300m by the eventual runner-up and then, she was headed at the 200m. A
lesser horse would have hoisted the white flag, yet
JAZIRAT (57.0kgs) dug deep to regain control and went on with the job to record a convincing
1.26 length win over Star of Success (55.0kgs) with third placed Solsjkaer finishing 1.52 lengths from
JAZIRAT in Race 3, the
RESCHS PILSNER LONG NECK Class 1 & Maiden Plate.
JAZIRAT (4yo mare Shooting to Win / Alzira) was another Dynamic Syndications tried horse purchase that we syndicated amongst our existing owners.
When we purchased her, she was a 4-start maiden in the
Godolphin yard.
JAZIRAT now has a career of 12 Starts: 2 Wins – 3 Seconds.
Our Owners have raced JAZIRAT for 8 runs: 2 Wins - 2 Seconds – 0 Thirds – 2 Fourths.
JASON DEAMER is doing a wonderful job with
JAZIRAT who is a staying mare and has been noted as being a bit naughty in the barriers, where she tends to stand flat-footed and walk out of the machines, giving away precious distance at the starts. Being a staying mare and having a stayer’s conformation, of being long striding and standing over good ground, finding the right races for her at the roomier tracks has been a bit of an issue but she
“sticks like chewing gum to a blanket” and ploughs through the mud, so with average racing luck this mare can put a few more photos on the wall for her ownership team once trips get out to 2000m and further.
JAZIRAT was placed to perfection in this event under the weight scale.
The only nagging doubt in our minds was on a Heavy 9 would she feel the pinch and run out of gas over the final 100m but that was not the case.
Jumping awkwardly but still getting away on terms,
JAZIRAT was allowed to settle in a slowly run race and drifted back to the rear after the first 200m and Ben Looker was content to let his peers roll along keeping
JAZIRAT for the home turn to make her move.
Saving ground on the fence throughout, as the field started to swing into the straight, Ben eased
JAZIRAT around the heels of those in front to be 4 deep as they balanced. The track was badly rain affected that it became a race to the outside fence. At the 300m the apprentice riding the second favourite lost their rudder and cannoned into
JAZIRAT with a significant blow. This turned out mare sideways and she lost momentum allowing the third placed horse to get up outside
JAZIRAT and in pole position on the outside paint.
It was a three-horse battle and at the 200m, the third placed horse Solsjkaer was on the better going and put its head in front. However,
JAZIRAT fought hard and at the 150m had regathered the lead, as the two chasing were fighting out minor placings. At the 100m
JAZIRAT had established her winning margin and was able to coast to the post over the final 50m to record a widening margin on the line.
A good ride and a terrific training performance combined with a happy and healthy horse to record a satisfying victory for her
Dynamic Ownership Team.
