Coolmore Australia
have announced their roster’s
Service Fees for 2023
with the exciting return to Australia of
two (
2
) exceptional Sires:
JUSTIFY
and
Starspangledbanner
are added back to their roster.
In 2023 they will stand:
Justify ($ T.B.A)
Fastnet Rock
tops the roster at
$110,000.
Starspangledbanner
is set at
$33,000
Perennial favourites
So You Think
will stand at
$99,000
Pierro
is always highly desired and is standing at
$82,500,
Wootton Bassett (GB)
at
$93,500
had an increase ahead of his first Australian crop selling in 2024.
Home Affairs
will be standing at
$99,000
and was the busiest first season sire in Australia last spring covering 202 mares and there is anticipation surrounding the arrival of his first foals.
Acrobat,
was also popular, and is in the affordable price range at
$13,750.
Pride of Dubai
has sired A resurgent Pride of Dubai is the sire of two G1 winners this season in Dubai Honour and Bella Nipotina, and eight SW's in Australasia this season and promises to fill a gap in the Hunter Valley as a serious Group 1 sire at a sensible fee of
$27,500.
Whilst the New Addition to their roster will be
BEST OF BORDEAUX (Snitzel)
is set at
$27,500.
He will join the balance of the roster, standing beside:
Adelaide $5,500, Churchill $22,000, King’s Legacy $27,500, St Mark’s Basilica $44,000 and Yes Yes Yes $33,000.
Justify - Australia's Leading First Crop Sire
No doubt the
biggest coup
for the juggernaut breeding operation is their decision to
backflip
on
JUSTIFY
and return to Australia for the 2023.
JUSTIFY
had such a brilliant first season in the Northern Hemisphere that in 2022, Coolmore decided not to shuttle him back to Australia, sighting then he was considered
“too valuable to risk”
being shuttled to Australia for that breeding season.
To be fair, that was not one of their better decisions, as history shows that
JUSTIFY is a Sire Sensation in the Southern Hemisphere
as well, and he is now
set to be crowned
Australia’s Leading First Season Sire
for 2022-23.
JUSTIFY
only had
96
live foals
in his
first crop
(current 2yo’s).
Whilst his
second crop
(current yearlings) there were
82
live foals.
From this crop only
21
of these were Sold
through the yearling sales this year.
From his
third crop
(2022 foals) in Australia, there are
only
59
live foals
on the ground.
This is the current third crop that will be next year’s yearlings.
After the standard number of retention's by their breeders, then losses through accident, injury or death, then those considered unsellable progeny due to being unsuitably conformed individuals and finally, there will be those that will ultimately fail x-rays or endoscopic evaluations as yearlings, it therefore, can be fairly concluded there will only be
about
20 yearlings
maximum
to be offered in Australia by this super sire next year during the
2024 yearling sales.
That will be followed by
zero
in 2025 yearling sales
because the sire didn’t cover in Australia in 2022.
So, it won’t be
until 2026
before a sizable foal crop will be available in the yearling sales, coming from this 2023 breeding season.
Simple supply and demand scarcity of this super sire’s progeny will drive prices upwards, equally with the performances of his talented progeny because the professional buyers are now aware of the ability they possess as seen in the yearling sale ring this season.
JUSTIFY
has made his mark with outstanding two-year-old filly
Learning to Fly
dominating the 2yo Fillies division before unfortunately losing her rider in the Golden Slipper.
JUSTIFY
has another exciting filly named
Legacies,
who won easily on debut and runs in the Listed ANZAC Day Stakes on Saturday. Whilst in Adelaide on Saturday,
Air Assault
is having a crack at the 1200m Gr3 Breeders Plate.
Justify
is also the sire of
Californian
who has had
3 starts: 1-1-1.
Important to note that
JUSTIFY is
nicking
with
DANEHILL
line mares in Australia as both
Learning To Fly and Legacies
are bred this way.
The stats
are amazing on
JUSTIFY
starting his career in Australia.
With
only
9.4%
of his first crop to have been seen at the races to date,
JUSTIFY
has had:
9
Runners:
3
Winners and
3
Placed.
Each of his
3
placegetters
have been placed as
Runner-up
.
Also of the unplaced three,
Just Glamourous was
4th
at Warwick Farm,
They have
won
5
Races,
3
Stakes Wins and won
$1,618,175.
The Brilliant and Undefeated World Champion son of Scat Daddy had strong results at the yearling sales this year.
His second crop averaging
$369,000
at Magic Millions and
$344,000
at Inglis Easter.
In total
only
21
yearlings
were Sold, selling up to
$1.4 million
The 2023 overall
Average
was
$271,667
whilst the
Median
was
$170,000.
This is a great indication as to the regard in which his current two-year-olds are held by the professionals in the market.
None amongst the professional buyers in our industry truly believed
JUSTIFY
could sire precocious 2yo’s as they would need age and distance, but
this sire is a freak
, and the progeny are running as 2yo’s in both hemispheres. So, we can only sit back and ponder just how good his progeny could become when they turn 3yo’s and all the classic races between 1600m to 2400m are laid out in front of them.
So far in Both Hemispheres
JUSTIFY has
3yo’s
in the North and
2yo’s
in the South.

From the
statistical information
available, its easy to read why
Dynamic Syndications
have such a
huge opinion about JUSTIFY
and we strongly urge
our Owners and Followers
to become involved in the right yearlings by this sensational sire.
That’s why we purchased the
Chestnut Colt
by
JUSTIFY ex ORONTES (By Redoute’s Choice – Danehill)
at the
Magic Millions.
Our homework rated him
genetically the
leading yearling by the sire
at the Magic Millions.
We loved him on type and so did Ciaron Maher.
So instead of bidding against each other, we
joined forces in partnership
with this colt. On what he has displayed to date, it appears a
masterstroke.
The
planet’s have aligned
with
this colt
and
our
Dynamic/Ciaron Maher Team
. Don’t miss out on this colt because as reported above, the scarcity of his stock, and the ability they are showing, they will continue to drive up in value. We are just glad we purchased this Colt at the Magic Millions because we would have needed to pay a lot more for him if he was sold at Easter.
