Just RAPT that SANTA Brought Early Christmas Gift to our Dynamic Lady Owners
Just RAPT that SANTA Brought Early Christmas Gift to our Dynamic Lady Owners

Her hoof was on the till after a
“flashing lights”
first-up run from a spell in stakes company over an unsuitably short 1300m in Brisbane last start, when finishing in fourth (4th) spot behind Danny's St Darci and Cigar Flick in the
Just Now LR
over 1300m two weeks earlier.
This time out,
our Jason Deamer trained Dynamic 4yo mare RAPT (MORE THAN READY (USA) from GHENWAA)
was nominated and accepted in three races at Randwick for Saturday 21 December.
Having the luxury to analyse the form of each race, we elected to
target Race 3, the ATC Midway Hcp over 1600m with Tim Clark
booked to steer.
Up in trip, down in class, fitter for the first-up effort,
RAPT
looked ideally placed dropping well back in grade to Midway class, and it was just a matter of sit and steer for our jet pilot Tim Clark, who carved out a very comfortable course throughout to have the luxury to idle-down over the final 50m metres to claim a dominant win.
RAPT winning at Randwick 21-12-24
RAPT is a 4yo Bay Mare by MORE THAN READY (USA) from GHENWAA.
She won Race 3 at Randwick on Saturday; ATC Midway Hcp 1600m Benchmark 72.
On a Good 4 track, she ran a Time: 1:35.43 with a Last 600m: 0:36.07.
RAPT is trained by Jason Deamer and was ridden by Tim Clark from barrier 4, carried 58.5kg and started $3.60 Favourite.
She defeated DR EVIL (John Steinmetz / Tyler Schiller) by 1.25 lengths from barrier 2 who carried 60.5kgs, starting at $9.50. Third place was JACOB’S TIME (Anthony Mountney / Billy Loughnane) finishing 2.28 lengths away carrying 56.5kg from barrier 6 at $11.
Congratulations to Our Dynamic All Ladies Co-Ownership Team that race RAPT:

The race panned out as anticipated. In a race where it looked void of natural tempo, as soon as that appears on speed maps connections of horses want to send their horses forward.
As a result, this race went to a drag race for the first 400m, setting up a very strong early tempo bringing those horses undone and giving a lovely trail for backmarkers to join in and swoop on past.
From the time the gates crashed back, the pace was on with riders pushing hard to take up early positions.
Rapt
lacks natural gatespeed and has a get back style of racing pattern. As the field hit the ground running,
RAPT
was a touch tardy missing the kick 3/4 of a length, settling second last. Tim pushed up after the first 20 metres, and drove
RAPT
forward, into the running line, one off the fence, with only two horses behind him.
It’s here that the leaders pushed the handlebars down and put a slick early tempo, which spread the field out over a dozen lengths at the 1000m marker after the first 600m of the race had been run.
During this first 600m Tim Clark had the luxury of moving forward to place the other horse that was solid in the betting named Callistemon, up against the fence tracking 4 pairs back behind horses that would be tiring.
Passing the 600m marker, Tim allowed
RAPT
to angel out 3 deep coming off the heels of the horse she was tracking and as soon as she saw daylight
RAPT
picked up the bit and started to improve, reeling-in the leading division as they started to turn into the straight.
Balancing up for the run home,
RAPT
was spotting the leaders 3 lengths and Tim had angled out to the middle of the track and was unwinding with a fast finishing burst of energy.
With 200m to run
RAPT
had moved up into second place and was rapidly reeling in the leader.
At the 100m point,
RAPT
had hit the front and had put a length on the horse that had been leading.
Between the 100m to the 50m Tim just gave
RAPT
two reminders and then from the 50m to the winning post Tim was able to sit up and ease down
RAPT
as she was allowed to cruise to the line to record the dominant victory.
Job Done!
Brains Trust cooks up further success at headquarters: Adam Watt, Jason Deamer & Tim Clark
JASON DEAMER
was interviewed by
Sky’s Greg Radley
with Greg starting the interview by saying:
“Well done Jason, you have got a lovely mare to work with.”
Jason responded:
“Yes. She’s not overly big but she is all heart, and she’s got a good motor in there.”
Then Greg said:
“Tim Clark summed things up pretty well, he got on his bike and put her into the contest.”
Jason concurred:
“Yeah that’s right. He gave her a lovely run throughout the race, and then just started to sneak into it at the right time. Just popped out three deep and just kept improving and improving and kept her on the bridle at the same time. So, by when the time came to put the foot down he wasn’t far off them.”
Greg then asked:
“Is there anything else you have got your eye on for her?”
Jason said:
“Obviously she has won here today, she had to do that. She is a Magic Millions horse, so she may have a crack at The Wave (1800m W-F-A) at the Magic Millions on the 4th January.”
“Good luck with her”
Then Chantelle Buckly from Sky spoke to jockey Tim Clark: “
Well done Tim, the race worked out perfectly, the speed was on, and she has an electric turn of foot.”
Tim answered:
“Yeah, she put the writing on the wall obviously, first-up with that run up in Queensland, and looked really well placed back to this grade today. As you said, it worked out well. They went along a bit early, and I was able to track-up in the middle stages strongly on the bridal. I just crept into it around the bend and got a good path through a couple that weren’t taking me anywhere. Once she balanced and flattened out, she really hit the line well.”
Chantelle then added:
“She’s not big but she is all heart.”
Tim confirmed:
“Yeah, she is. And obviously they have worked out she just loves being ridden that little bit patiently, and she’s got a great turn of foot.”
