KOKOSHNIK Brings up 50 DYNAMIC WINS for Racing Season

A much deserved and easy Maiden Win for Dynamic 3yo filly KOKOSHNIK (Pierro x Tiare) on Friday at Goulburn, saw our filly post her first win at start number 5, after 3 second placings at her previous 4 racetrack appearances. All five starts have been in this preparation and looking at her as a type, she will be a much better again with another 6 months maturity. So the future looks bright.

KOKOSHNIK won Race 1 the Doyle’s Seafood Restaurant, F&M Maiden Plate, 1300m.

She won by an easy length over Ocean Diva with Dorami 0.2 lengths further back in third.

Our Richard & William Freedman trained filly was ridden by Blake Spriggs and posted 1:19.14 with a quick last 600m of 35.25 on the Soft 5 surface ensuing nothing was capable of running her down.

The beautifully bred filly was a $140,000 Inglis Classic purchase and at the time when we purchased her, the now 4yo elder half-brother by So You Think hadn’t raced. It has made a splash since arriving at the sport with the racing name THINK ABOUT IT – he has raced 9 times now for 8 wins and 1 third, including a Gr1 Kingsford Smith, Gr3 Liverpool City Cup & LR Takeover Target and $1,048,175.

KOKOSHNIK was a heart-breaking runner-up last start at Kembla when caught in the final stride, so breaking her maiden status was more important than ever to fill out her pedigree page for breeding purposes post racing, and to give the horse and our owners confidence. Placing her where the handicapper couldn’t get her was vital as much as ensuring the opposition was right.

We were tempted to run at Warwick Farm for her next race but we identified at Goulburn a Fillies & Mares Set Weights Maiden Plate over 1300m at Goulburn which was a significant drop in class and only against her own sex, rather than taking on the males was ideal. In addition, the set weights was vital, as if it was a handicap with 3 seconds from 4 starts, they would have given her the grandstand.

The booking of in form pilot Blake Spriggs was also a masterstroke, and then when the acceptances came out the race looked perfect, and we discarded nominations we held for Warwick Farm and the provincials to focus on Goulburn.

The bookies new she was placed to perfection when opening at $1.45 and firming to $1.30 as the gates crashed back and owners and punters were never concerned as the filly went to the front and controlled the race throughout to hit the line under hands and heels and was never under threat.

Our speed map on exposed formlines had her leading with ease, but the only unknown would debutant Ocean Diva want the lead? So instructions were simple to Blake, “In essence, keep out of trouble and lead under an easy tempo but if anything else wants to lead, make it work early to cross then sit at its girth.” We were concerned the rail was worn and a bit damp therefore stay away from the fence.

JOB DONE !

The race played out as we thought, and Blake rode her perfectly to instruction. The early part was more like trackwork than a race when Blake peeled off even splits and when the button was pushed as the field balanced for the run home, nothing could respond.

Importantly to our Team at Dynamic Syndications this victory was the 50th Race Win our selected horses have won for the 2022-23 Racing Season.

KOKOSHNIK has taken her Career Summary to: 5 starts =1 win: 3 seconds :0 and Prizemoney: $39,925.

In addition to becoming our 50th Race win, KOKOSHNIK recorded our 820th Race Win Overall and she became our 287th Individual Race Winner from 329 Individual Runners (87.2%).
