As at 22 Feb 2023 some intriguing statistical data is focusing the spotlight on Trainers and Sires Premierships and overall performances.

Just because you are the biggest does not mean you are the best.

The Trainer’s Premiership is proving that when we look as Winners:Runners Strike Rates – all is not as it seems.

Same with the Sires Premierships. Some have far better strike rates off restricted/limited opportunities.

AUSTRALIAN TRAINERS PREMIERSHIP

NOTE: CIARON MAHER & DAVID EUSTACE are currently
Australia's Leading Stable 16.5 wins ahead of Chris Waller.

However Waller has had 363 More Starters (37.5%) than MAHER & EUSTACE.

Waller has a Strike Rate of 12.8% whilst Maher & Eustace Strike Rate is 19.2%.

It use to be the most important Sire Premiership was that by Earnings. However with the plethora of huge prizemoney races this statistic can be distorted and skewered a Sires standings up the table by the deeds of their top horse. A better reflection to evaluate a sire by Earnings is to remove the Top Earner for each sire and then evaluate their Earnings Performances.
