Wow what a way to record
Dynamic Syndications 66th Race Win for this 2020-21 Racing Season when
our 3YO Filly DOMINANT LADY (I Am Invincible ex Sensible Lady) surged to the front in the final few strides to claim Race 3 the Sharp Office Class 1 900m at Newcastle on Saturday.
DOMINANT LADY Winning Race 3 at Newcastle
Our trainer Jason Deamer from his Newcastle based stables, presented out filly in
immaculate condition and looked ready are rearing to go in the pre-parade.
A masterstroke to engage impressive young apprentice Reece Jones with his 2.0kgs claim proved its worth, because when the flash went off, just
0.15 length separated
DOMINANT LADY (56.5kg cd 54.5kg) ($2.70) over the odds-on favourite Agrum (58.5kg) ($1.60) with Pacific Ocean (56.5kg) ($14) running third 0.77 lengths behind
DOMINANT LADY.
Despite the short margin of victory over the runner-up Agrum, had
DOMINANT LADY not arrived in time, she would surely have won the race in the steward’s room such was the significant interference she received from the favourite during the race.
It was anticipated on most speed maps that the favourite Agrum who had drawn barrier 1 would spear forward and control the tempo with
DOMINANT LADY coming across to sit at its girth with Pacific Ocean trapped 3 deep.
However, as the gates crashed back, the field flew the machines and it was Pacific Ocean that gained the immediate lead, sizzling along to clear by two lengths with $51 chance Lilly’s Lolly at its girth. Agrum tucked in behind the leader with
DOMINANT LADY in the one out / one back position in fourth, but she was caught behind the $51 chance which was under pressure at the 500m.
It was here that the problems began for DOMINANT LADY. It was bordering on dangerous when Agrum’s rider decided he didn’t want to be where he was on the fence and passing the 500m, Agrum
turned out straight left, banging into our filly and then instead of straightening his mount, the jockey then continued to
bash his way out of where he was, pushing
DOMINANT LADY out of its rightful established position.
Then as the field swung into the straight Agrum again gave
DOMINANT LADY yet another significant bump, causing our filly to lose balance and momentum at a vital stage. That cost
DOMINANT LADY 3/4 of a length at the 300m, on a track rated Soft 6 but was quickly downgraded after that to a Heavy 8 for the next race.
100m
At the 200m, the leader was still a 1/2 length in front but stride-by-stride,
DOMINANT LADY was reeling it in. Then having gained a head advantage with 20 metres remaining, the runner-up shifted out sharply and bumped our horse heavily with two strides remaining.
50m
The coolness of the ride by young apprentice Reece Jones was excellent. He wasn’t flustered or put off his game plan during the interference in the race and was hanging tough, not being dictated too.
Winner !
Reece ended-up with 3 wins on the day, and by doing so, claimed the Newcastle Apprentice Jockey Premiership.
Reece Jones & DOMINANT LADY - A Dynamic Duo !
Reece started the day 2 wins behind Tyler Schiller, who was not riding due to injury. So Reece made his own luck and claimed the premiership.
Congratulations Reece.
A big thanks to JASON DEAMER and his top team. This terrific horseman with only 17 boxes at Newcastle, clocked up his 22nd Winner for the Season.
