Darley Stud's flagship stallion EXCEED AND EXCEL moved to
within six of a
double-century of stakes winners when his
2yo colt LEFT THE BUILDING scored a last stride win in Saturday's Amelia Park -
Perth Stakes (1100m) at Ascot.
Ridden by Clint Johnston-Porter,
Left The Building flew home with a barnstorming finish to edge out Street Parade by a half-head with the with Kosta's Crown three-quarters of a length back in third.
Left The Building was firm in the market following a
third on debut behind his stablemate Man Crush in the
Magic Millions Crystal Slipper Stakes at Ascot on November 20.
Bred by Three Bridges Thoroughbreds,
Left The Building was a
$170,000 weanling and re-offered as a pin-hook and sold for
$130,000 at the Inglis Easter yearlings.
He is the first winner to date from two to race for the More Than Ready (USA) mare
Vicennalia (USA), a half-sister to Gr2 winner Speaktomeofsummer and Listed winner Proud Reunion.
Vicennalia (USA) was a US$500,000 purchase by John Ferguson, on behalf of Godolphin, at the 2014 September Yearling Sale.
Vicennalia (USA) was a 2yo winner at Newbury, and then was sent back to the ring again at the 2016 Tattersalls July Bloodstock Sale where Yulong Investments paid $80,000gns.
Served by and carrying a positive test to Frankel, she was consigned by Yulong to the 2017 National Broodmare Sale, selling for $400,000.
Then at the 2021 Inglis October Online Sale, Vicennalia (USA) sold for $105,000 with a Dundeel colt at foot. In 2021, she was covered by Impending.
EXCEED AND EXCEL Stands at Darley NSW and last season had a service fee of $132,000.

At the 5th and final Session on the Saturday Night of the Main
Magic Millions Yearling Sale at their Gold Coast sales complex,
TEAM DYNAMIC purchased another terrific colt to add to our stable of stars.

Our thirst for stock by champion sire EXCEED AND EXCEL was quenched in the final hour of the final session of the 2022 Magic Millions Sale, when Lot 899 - a Bay Colt by a stallion we have achieved so much success with, entered the salering and left as the property of Team Dynamic at our bid of $160,000 + GST.
The colt was being offered by
Segenhoe Stud and is from the
Gr3 placed High Chaparral mare DAME MARGO FONTEYN (NZ).
The Dam won 2 races at 1400m and 1600m and was 3rd in the ARC Sunline Vase Gr3.
She is a Half-Sister to Stakes Winner and Gr3 placed RESPIN.
Our Colt is the mare’s third foal.
She has had one foal to race named
Dignified Doubt (Not A Single Doubt) who has been
placed this season, and she has an
unnamed 2yo by Merchant Navy.
Our vet Dr Tim Roberts was equally impressed with the colt as we were, when we inspected him.
The colt is a high-quality individual, athletic, and well conformed. His X-rays were clean, and he had a Grade 1 Scope.
Genetically he is very well bred with a Geonick score of A 195% and a Quality rating of Q6.
In addition, he is
BOBS Eligible and presents as an
ideal candidate for the
Magic Millions Race Series, and in particular, the new event named
THE SYNDICATE – a $1m race for horses owned by a syndicate.
