World Champion racehorse JUSTIFY has an unassailable lead on the Australian FIRST SEASON Sires list and he posted yet another impressive debut winner at Cranbourne on Friday night when Legacies (2f Justify x Abyssinie, by Danehill Dancer) opened her account.
LEGACIES - a dominant debut winner for JUSTIFY
Trained by Peter Moody, Legacies was well fancied in the 1200 juvenile fillies maiden and scored a dominant length and a quarter win.
She led for home and was strong all the way to the line to win decisively for Luke Nolen.
“She’s a beautiful filly, really scopey and as she gets older and matures, we will definitely see good improvement in her,” said the stable representative.
“She’s trialled up well and educated really nicely so it’s great to her come to the races and handle the night so well.
“We’ll see how she comes out of this race and reassess after that.”
A homebred for Rosemont Stud, Legacies is the fourth winner from Irish bred Abysinnie, a blue-blooded three-quarter sister by Danehill Dancer to multiple Group 1 winners Artiste Royale and Aquarelliste from an elite European family packed with Black Type.
Legacies is the third Australian winner for Justify, whose outstanding filly Learning to Fly won the Group 2 ATC Reisling Stakes and $2million Inglis Millennium before losing her rider in the Golden Slipper.
The second crop of Australian Justify yearlings have been extremely popular at the sales this year with 10 averaging $369,000 at Magic Millions and a further 10 averaging $344,000 at Inglis Easter, so professional buyers are clearly happy with what they have seen so far and hold high hopes for their classic season to come.
JUSTIFY - Off to a flying start as a Sire
His highest priced yearling was a $750,000 filly purchased by Yu Long Investments from Coolmore Stud.
That filly is the first foal of Group 1 winner Invincibella, a half-sister to Group 3 winner Secret Blaze and stakes winner Extreme Flight. This is also the family of Group 1 winner The Hind. An impressive race mare, Invincibella won over $3 million on the track and was purchased for $1.3 million by Tom Magnier in 2020 with plans to mate her to Justify quickly confirmed.
On Day 2, JUSTIFY registered a $700,000 colt.
The colt is the first foal out of Group 1 winning So You Think daughter Nakeeta Jane, who also earned two other Group 1 placings during her racing career. Nakeeta Jane is one of six winners out of Group 2 placed Lustre Lady and is a great-granddaughter of Group 1 Epsom Oaks winner Jet Ski Lady.
JUSTIFY has an unassailable lead and is set to be crowned Champion Australian First Crop Sire by earning.
In the Northern Hemisphere, Justify’s seven stakes winners and eight group stakes performers is best of any second crop stallion.
Dynamic Syndications have only limited shares remaining in a sensational colt by JUSTIFY ex ORONTES (by Redoute’s Choice) which we purchased in conjunction with Ciaron Maher Racing at the Magic Millions.
