Having a ticket in the equine lottery by owning a share in a racehorse is affordable, easy and fun.
So how do get one ? You buy one !
Below, let us take you on a specific journey .
Step 1: Dynamic Syndications receives the catalogue for the 2018 Magic Millions Sales
Step 2: We do our due diligence work on the pedigree’s genetic balance of all 1,062 lots in the book
Step 3: One week out before the sale starts, at the Magic Millions Salegrounds we commence inspecting the lots we have identified as acceptably bred.
Step 4: We reject all lots with obvious conformation defects or which lack obvious size, scope or athleticism.
Step 5: Then we re-inspect those that passed the first round of inspections and this time we heavily critique those lots, again rejecting any lot that may have conformation faults that potentially increase risk.

Step 6: With our final list, we introduce our contracted veterinarian Dr. Tim Roberts and return with Dr Tim to check each remaining lot again to determine if there was any reason from a veterinary perspective the individual should not be purchased.
Step 7: Those that have survived the inspection rounds with Dr. Tim, then has Tim reading the full set of 42 X-rays for each lot ensuring that if there is any risk on any of the X-rays per horse, we rule it out and the horse is removed from our list.
Step 8: Dynamic Syndications Managing Director Dean Watt, is a longstanding Member of the Bloodstock Agents Federation of Australia, experienced in market appraisals. Using his knowledge and 37 year’s experience, Dean evaluates each lot as to its true commercial value and sets the ceiling price upon which Team Dynamic will bid up to in the sale ring.
Ensuring all due diligence has been done we are confident when purchasing every horse.
Step 9: Once the horse is knocked down at the sale price, GST must be added. Next Team Dynamic has in place Fall of Hammer insurance through Logan Livestock Insurance at the syndicated value that comes into immediate effect to a forward date of 1 November. Then we arrange for the horse to be immediately Blood Tested to ensure the yearling is clear of anabolic steroids or other growth drugs. We also arrange for the immediate post sale endoscopic evaluation which would cancel a sale should the horse have a throat defect preventing clear windflow.
Step 10: Once the horse passes endoscopic evaluation and is officially Dynamic, we advise the sale company that the horse will be entered into their bonus Race Series and incur the entry fee of $4,950. Next we notify our professional photographer to take pictures of the horse and our company takes video clips and interviews at the saleyard.
Step 11: We then organise the Pass-Out from the sale ground and then the transport company is notified that the horse is right to be taken to our preferred agistment property.
Step 12: Dynamic Syndications allocates a Trainer to train the horse and then budgets forward 6 months holding costs including heading off to the breakers to be educated and then several visits to the pre-trainers and other horse husbandry and management requirements.
Step 13: Then Dynamic Syndications creates a Product Disclosure Statement and an Owners Deed about the horse which includes: Veterinary Certificates, Insurance Certificates, Letter from the Trainer and other important documents.
Step 14: Dynamic Syndications submits these documents to the Racing Authority and once they are checked and approved we offer shares for sale in the horse to the public.
Step 15: Dynamic Syndications sells shares to clients who become co-owners in the horse.
This is the same process Dynamic Syndications applied to this colt after we purchased him at the 2018 Magic Millions.
He was Lot 217 who we purchased from vendor Newhaven Park Stud.
Lot 217 - The colt we purchased
Our sale notes written onto the catalogue pedigree page to describe what we saw stated:
“3 ticks, Rating 7+ (on Type), Nice Colt, Swagger”
What captured attention about this colt was his swagger – he walked like a good horse, he was alert like a good horse, he had presence as if he knew he was special.
We were delighted with the colt and after purchasing him we went through the processes and divided him into 20 shares at $8,750 per share. He was fully syndicated.
This is the same horse this week in training at Randwick as a Spring 3yo
And this was him remaining unbeaten when winning his second race from 2 race starts at Royal Randwick 19 days ago defeating subsequent Gr1 Winner FUNSTAR.
In these 2 race starts he has earned $113,750.
He now heads to Rosehill on Saturday 28/9 to compete in his third career race start - the $1m Gr1 Golden Rose where first prize is $580,000.
This horse is now know as YAO DASH and a 5% share in him cost his owners $8,750 and has taken the imaginations of his terrific team of co-owners to enormous emotional highs already and as the countdown to 4:05pm Saturday draws nearer the butterflies they feel will surely multiply.
Best Wishes to Co-Owners: Dynamic Syndications Racing Syndicate, Almighty Racing Pty Ltd Syndicate, Mr C S Carmody, Mr J W Sutherland, Ms L Cotter, Mr J P Kelly, Mr S J McGee, Mr G J McMahon, Mr P Bray, Mr J T Storey, Champagne Sundays Syndicate, Mr K T Gunn, Mr N W Kim, Mr S M Browne
Whatever the result – what a ride our Dynamic Syndications Ownership Team are enjoying.
