Connections of Dynamic Sprinter LORD PARAMOUNT were delighted with the efforts of their
promising 3yo sprinter who went to the races at Stony Creek on Monday for
trainers CIARON MAHER & DAVID EUSTACE and
won as expected, in not much more than
a trackwork jog, trot, canter to record an impressive
4.25 length winning margin over Lightning Rider (59.5kgs) with Bob’s Relish (62.0kgs) a Short Head back in third position in
Race 6, the Mirboo North Hotel Benchmark 58 Handicap.
Such was the ease of the all the way win, with being afforded the opportunity to cruise to the line with his ears pricked, we were
shocked when
Lord Paramount posted a time of 58.47 secs for the 1000m which was just
2/100ths (0.02 secs) outside the
1000m Stony Creek Track Record.
The time of 58.47 Smashed the Benchmark 58 Class Record by a massive 0.89 sec (approx. 7 lengths) which was set on 11 March 2018 by PRESUMPTUOUS a 5yo Gelding who carried 61.0kg who stopped the clock at 0:59.36.
Where are they? Ethan Brown looks behind at the 200m
Hands and heels at the 100m
Had he been pushed along despite carrying a
massive 64.0kgs he would have
obliterated the stopwatch.
Rider Ethan Brown was asked to go to the front and improve on your position and the plan worked perfectly.
Official Photo Finish
The purpose of dropping back in grade was to give our highly promising
son of Frosted an easy, confidence building gallop after things went pear-shaped last start at Moonee Valley where he finished 5th in the Gold Ingot.
We had identified this race at Stony Creek and a midweek event at Sandown, but with plans for the future in mind, it was about ticking boxes over his fitness, improving his racecraft and his race manners, without pressure and in doing so building the horse’s confidence for a specific event we will be looking at in 3 weeks’ time.
LORD PARAMOUNT returning to the winners circle
A $100,000 purchase from the Inglis Premier Sale, our gorgeous grey gelding has taken his career tally to 5 starts: 2 Wins, 1 second and $69,940.
Ethan Brown
It was the
ruthlessness of this victory that has kept connections encouraged as we look to target better races in the autumn.
