MAGIC Day 3 Buying for Team DYNAMIC Adding a Cracking Colt and Fabulous Filly

The strong buying bench was back at it again on Day 3 of the 2022 Magic Millions.

The Average increased yet again and now sits at $298,668 up $46,000 whilst the Median also rose to $230,000 a rise of $50,000. The clearance rate sits at an amazing 93.82%

However, we still achieved adding two (2) brilliant yearlings to Team DYNAMIC and this has taken our haul over the first 3 Sale Days to 8 yearlings.

On DAY 3 we purchased:

Lot 464 CAPITALIST x SABOT Bay Colt for $120,000 + GST

Lot 554 DUNDEEL x SPORT CHIC Bay Filly for $150,000 + GST

Both yearlings head to GAI WATERHOUSE and ADRIAN BOTT to be trained.

Our FIRST PURCHASE was a cracking bay colt to our team by boom young sire CAPITALIST from the mare SABOT for $120,000 + GST.

Rated highly by our Dynamic Team on both conformation and genetics, our vet Dr Tim Roberts gave him the “all clear” with Low-Risk X-rays and a Grade 1 Scope.

Offered by MURRULLA STUD (As Agent for L J Driver) we had spotted him in the early rounds of physical inspections.

He also has a terrific genetic pedigree rating score:

Werk Rating A++ 1,646% / Geonick Rating A+ 1150% / Quality Rating Q4

What we did find out was that the colt was created under a “foal share agreement” between the breeder and Newgate Farm. Therefore, as per the terms of the arrangement, it had to be sold through the sale ring.

CAPITALIST - the Golden Slipper Winner is now a sensational young sire.

Our colt was conceived at a service fee of $55,000 but the sire now stands at $99,000 Service Fee.

CAPITALIST is Australia’s Leading Second Crop Sire on both Earnings and Individual Winners.

SABOT (by Arena – a son of Danehill) was Unraced. Our Colt is her First live foal.

A beautifully related mare, SABOT is a Full-Sister to Gr1 Winner REGAL CHEER (6 wins 1 at 2) inc the STC Coolmore Classic and AJC Surround S Gr2.

REGAL CHEER is the Dam of the Stakes Winning and Gr1 Placed - KNOYDART.

SABOT is a three-quarter sister to Stakes Winning and Gr1 placed MY LADY’S CHAMBER – Dam of Gr3 Winner HIGHLAD.

SABOT is the daughter of sensational 2yo filly REGAL CHAMBER. who won the Gr2 Magic Night and was 3rd in the Gr1 Golden Slipper.

We love buying foal shares, as we know that under the terms of the agreement that they must be sold at auction so there are no unrealistic reserves. You can bid and buy with confidence.

In such a hot market this colt was a sensational value buy.

Introducing Lot 554 DUNDEEL x SPORT CHIC Bay Filly

Our newest filly to join our stable of stars is the FULL-SISTER to DEALMAKER who is back in training after a spell. He has won 3-races and nearly half a million dollars and is 6-times Group Placed in Sydney and Melbourne.

Our filly is from the 2yo city winning mare SPORT CHIC (by Redoute’s Choice).

SPORT CHIC defeated Gr3 Winner ZEPHYRON and SW KNEELING in her 2YO city win.

A half-sister to SPORT CHIC named ALASSIO beat the likes of Gr1 Winners: I AM EXCITED, NETTOYER, DIXIE BLOSSOMS in her two Group wins.

Sport Chic has a 2yo Maurice Colt and is in-foal to Castelvecchio.

Our Filly is by DUNDEEL (by High Chapparal).

He was NZ Horse of the Year and a 6-time Gr1 Winner in Australia.

DUNDEEL is rapidly approaching 200 winners and has sired 16 stakes winners from his first couple of crops. Among his 16 stakes winners include 5 Gr1 Winners.

Standing at a Service fee of $66,000, this season DUNDEEL has sired Group Winners - She’s Ideel and Entente, Stakes Winner Cerberus and Gr1 placed Teewaters.

Bred to be a star, our filly had a genetic rating that placed her as the “BEST BRED” yearling by DUNDEEL among the 26 catalogued lots.

Dundeel over Redoute’s Choice mares has produced 37 runners: 23 Winners and a Stakes Winner.

There have been 4 Gr1 Performers by DUNDEEL out of mares by Redoute’s Choice and his sons:

Gr1 winner SUPER SETH; Gr1 placed ENTENTE and VRC Derby-placed HIT THE SHOT and TEEWATERS.

Whilst there have been 128 Stakes Winners to date from broodmares by REDOUTE’S CHOICE.

Our vet Dr Tim Roberts gave us the all-clear to proceed with her purchase once he read the X-Rays and Videoscope.

We believe she was a 4-time service fee filly valuing her at $240,000 so to secure this filly for $150,000 + GST valuing her at 2½ times service fee was exceptional buying.

A high-quality filly bred at Australia’s leading thoroughbred nursery; she deserves to be trained in one of the best stables. So, we had no hesitation in advising Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott that they will be training the filly for us at Randwick.

She is eligible now for the Rich MAGIC MILLIONS Race Series along with BOBS and BOBS Extra bonus prizemoney. In addition to the record prizemoney on offer, when her racing days conclude, she will have excellent residual value as a broodmare prospect.

This filly is a gilt-edged equine investment for astute investors.
