Again, a sluggish start to the sale saw the first 45 minutes struggle but soon after, the fireworks started and the sale fired-up. The prices started to pick up and by the close of Day 2 the average had jumped to
$248,796, the Median was
$180,000 and the clearance rate was a strong
86.60%.
YEARLING #4
Dynamic Syndications were in the action early when we pounced for
$100,000 + GST on a precocious 2yo type of filly being offered by Lime Country Thoroughbreds (As Agent).
She is by
Newgate Farm’s exciting new season sire
EXTREME CHOICE, from the 2yo winning Encosta De Lago mare
ENCOSTA JEWEL – herself a three-quarter-sister to
MISS FABULOUS (by Encosta De Lago) who won 4 races from 1000m to 1400m including the Gr2 MRC Tristarc Stakes and the Listed SAJC Redelva Stakes.
This is the family of speed Black Type stakes horses:
SUPER ELEGANT, ELEGANCY, MISTER ELEGANT, VALENTIA, WAIT FOR NO ONE, RAZOR SHARP, etc.
EXTREME CHOICE (Not A Single Doubt) was trained by Mick Price and won 4 races -3 at 2- at 1000m and 1200m and over $1.7m including the MRC Blue Diamond Stakes Gr1, MVRC AJ Moir Stakes Gr1 and the MRC Chairman’s Stakes Gr3.
Extreme Choice started his stud career at a fee of
$38,500 in 2017.
A neat, well grown, athletic and correct filly with an A+++ Pedigree Rating by an exciting first season sire, we valued the filly to $120,000 so to secure her for
$100,000 + GST was a very pleasing result.
She will be heading to the stables of
MICK PRICE and Mick Kent Jnr at Caulfield with the hope Mick Price can cast his same magic spell on our filly as he did on the sire.
YEARLING #5
There is nothing more satisfying for a Bloodstock Agent / Syndication Company to have a prized lot in the catalogue that you adore, and having done all the due diligence including a full veterinary report with x-rays and endoscopic evaluation, it presents as clean as a whistle but you are limited in your budget to attack.
The nerves are on edge so it’s a massive relief to get the one you want.
This was the case with the
Dynamic Syndication Team on Day 2 when we rolled the dice and won on
Lot 393 a super looking Grey Filly offered by Edinburgh Stud when she was knocked down to us for
$200,000 + GST
She was by Newgate Farms brilliant New Sire
CAPITALIST (Written Tycoon) from the mare
ICY MIST.
By the
2016 GOLDEN SLIPPER Winner CAPITALIST who was crowned
Champion Australian 2YO in 2015-16. He was a rare colt who won 4 races at 2 including both the MAGIC MILLIONS and GOLDEN SLIPPER Double along with the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic and the ATC Breeders Plate.
ICY MIST was a mare well known to our Team at Dynamic.
ICY MIST
We purchased her as a yearling and won 3 races with her from 1200m to 1600m.
ICY MIST is a three-quarter sister to stakes horses
SNOW BEAUTY and
MINNIE MAH, a half-sister to Gr2 Winner and Gr1 Placed
COURVOISIER, ICE KING and Minnie Me (Dam of
CENT PER CENT).
Our yearling is
ICY MIST’s fifth foal. Her fourth foal is an unraced 2YO. She has had 3 foals to race including:
2016 ROOTER (Sebring) Placed in 2019 in Singapore. A
$160,000 Yearling
2017 WHEN STARS ALIGN (Zoustar) Winner at 1396m in 2019-20. A
$200,000 Yearling
2018 CARDICE (Brazen Beau) Placed in 2018-19. A
$60,000 Yearling
2019 Unnamed (I Am Invincible) A
$330,000 Yearling
2020 Unnamed (Extreme Choice) A
$200,000 Yearling
ICY MIST’s five progeny at the sales have averaged
$190,000.
Bred on an
A+ 630% Rating Score, this filly appealed on another level as she is unique in the fact, she is eligible for both the BOBS and VOBIS schemes.
Rated highly by our Team and our veterinarian, we valued the filly at $220,000 (four times service fee) however we have never paid more than $195,000 for a yearling in the ring so we capped our ceiling price at $200,000 such was the attraction of the filly.
After some hectic bidding drove the price to $180,000 it was now or never so we went all in and bid
$200,000 then crossed our fingers!
To our great relief our bid was not countered and the filly was knocked down to us.
What a relief and what enormous satisfaction.
She was something special and having a true understanding just how good
ICY MIST was as a racehorse but knowing we never got to see the best out of her, to now own her gorgeous grey daughter by a Golden Slipper Winner is truly satisfying.
A trainer for the filly has not been allocated.
