It was
364 days ago after returning to Australia from Hong Kong that
Nash Rawiller delivered Dynamic Syndications a winning double at Kembla Grange.
One of those winners was
Newcastle trainer Jason Deamer’s Dynamic galloper - DECROUX.
12 months on (less one day),
Nash Rawiller delivered another race winning double for Dynamic Syndications Owners. This time it was at Canterbury on Wednesday afternoon and again
DECROUX was one of the winners.
Jason Deamer turned out Decroux looking an absolute picture of health and muscle and the horse raced accordingly.
Having earlier won Race 1 aboard Dynamic debutant YARDSTICK, Nash followed that result when claiming Race 4 the TAB Handicap over 1900m on our
DECROUX.
Wow what a win! If you didn’t see it – you wouldn’t believe it!
It was a
masterclass by
Nash Rawiller over 1900m trip and
DECROUX didn’t let his pilot or owners down by fighting tooth and nail to gain the upper hand over the final 50 metres.
Nash said to Jason Deamer pre-race that he had one mission aboard our genuine middle-distance galloper. That was
“find the fence no matter what.”
Jumping from barrier 9 in a field of 10, and carrying 60.5kgs topweight
Nash and Decroux jumped quickly and then Nash took hold, letting the speed underneath go, before spearing across to find the fence in fifth spot, 4 lengths off the leaders as the field passed by the winning post for the first time.
Nash then rode the rail, 3 pairs back before making his move at the 600m. As the field turned for home, Nash had moved up into 3rd spot but was in a pocket on the fence. No worries about that, as Nash pushed out and gave cave chase.
Decroux gained the upper hand at the 75 metres and hit the front by a head but the runner to his inside Dalmatia Prince, laid out and kept bumping
Decroux who was digging deep. Nash was placed in a disadvantage as he couldn’t ride his trademark hands and heels because he was trying to keep
Decroux balanced and going in a straight line to the post. With 25 metres to go he drew clear and gained upper-hand, pulling away by 0.3 length.
It was a tough and courageous win by our horse but it was a brilliant ride that matched, delivering an outstanding result at the luxurious odds of $26.00.
It was no fluke as
Sky Channel tipster Paul Joice picked Decroux on top at these luxurious odds.
Decroux had put the writing on the wall at his previous start that he was ready for the 1900m trip and third up he would be at prime fitness.
DECROUX is our 5yo chestnut gelding by LOPE DE VEGA (IRE) from MIMES.
Dynamic Syndications purchased him at the
Magic Millions in 2016 for
$55,000 and have watched him take his racing career to
23 starts: 5 Wins, 4 seconds, 1 third and earnings of $182,325.
