Masterful Ride by NASH RAWILLER on DECROUX Delivers Dynamic Season Win 55

Dynamic Syndications recorded our 55th Race Victory for the 2018-19 Racing Season and our 597th Race Win overall, when honest Dynamic galloper DECROUX (4yo g Lope De Vega x Mimes) produced a barnstorming win under a masterful ride by comeback king NASH RAWILLER to claim Race 7 the Coniston Benchmark 64 2000m at Kembla Grange on Thursday.

Decroux was turned out looking a million dollars when being paraded pre-race by his Newcastle based trainer JASON DEAMER who has simply done a brilliant job with our honest competitor.

Jason has trained Decroux for 6 race starts after the horse was transferred to his care.

Jason changed his racing pattern from leading to trailing and the horse has bloomed.

After a miss first up for the new stable, Decroux had since rattled off runner-up positions three times in a row before last start jumping to Sydney Saturday grade when 4th on an unsuitable Heavy track over 1600m.

Having resumed over 1500m, he then raced over 1400m for a fast finishing 2nd then followed that with a 2nd place over 1500m at Hawkesbury, which was followed by another 2nd place this time over 1600m at Hawkesbury – all terrific efforts before his good 4th placing over 1600m at Randwick.

So here he was with an excellent foundation of fitness, stepping up to the 2000m and he proved far superior to his peers at the 2000m trip, when lumping 61.0kgs to claim victory by a widening 1.3 lengths.

You will find it difficult to find a better ride by a jockey than what Nash produced for us on DECROUX.

DECROUX we have always believed wanted a trip. However first try at the distance and being top-weight was our only slight doubt.

Nash asked how we would like the horse ridden and we asked him to “come out neutral and see where the horse wants to settle. He has been showing a desire to get back over the shorter distances but at this trip with a slower tempo just allow him to balance. From there we leave it to you Nash.”

Wow what a ride by the brilliant horseman.

Decroux 61.0kgs ($9.50) bounced away and whilst prominent for the first 50m, Nash got him to settle underneath him and as anticipated, the Gai Waterhouse’s horse Castle Sant’angelo 58.0kgs ($5) rolled forward to lead however surprisingly couldn’t get to the front, as Shangai Patrol 58.0kgs ($8) pushed up to take the pilot position. That gave the $3.10 favourite Fast Train a perfect trail one back the fence being kept company by Frascati Miss 57.0kgs ($7). Next in fifth spot was Chosen Prince 57.0kgs ($20) with a further length back to Decroux who was tracking in 6th spot, one off the fence, 7 lengths off the leaders.

Coming down to the 600m, the field was racing in pairs, with no change to the order, Nash was tracking the back of the favourite Fast Train by 3 lengths as they swung for home.

At the 400m as the field balanced for the run to the post, Castel Sant’Angelo went for home setting up a 2 length lead over Fast Train who was now 2 lengths in front of Decroux.

Nash angled off the heels of Fast Train pushing Frascati Miss out of the way and set sail after the leaders.

At the 200m Fast Train had closed the gap on the leader to a length with Decroux a length further back, now 2 lengths from the leader.

At the 100m Fast Train and Castel Sant’Angelo were eyeballing each other with Decroux a half-length further back but full of running.

With 50m to run Nash started to drive forward and Decroux responded brilliantly to hit the front and then extend the lead to 1.3 lengths as they hit the line.

That was an 11 out of 10 ride by the wizard Nash Rawiller who has hit the ground running as if he had never been out of the saddle despite having 15 months off the scene.

This was win number 2 on the day for the Nash Rawiller / Dynamic Syndications combo having won race 4 with Escaped earlier on the programme.

Nash was interviewed post-race and reported:

“He had a lovely run, we had a think about it before the race so we decided to ride him a pair further back.

“He’s a horse with a fair bit of ability I think and getting him to a wide spacious track where he could feel his feet hitting the track really helped.

“I was happy to sacrifice making a wide run and just to ride for luck turning for home because I was on the back of the right horse I felt.

“Look he went to them like a pretty good horse and he’s done just what he had too. It was a nice win.”
