Talented 4yo Mare NARRATED (by SNITZEL from FICTIONAL ACCOUNT (IRE)) continues to build on her career resume when
scoring her second race win this preparation, winning at Mudgee on Sunday on a Soft 7 rated surface by 2.23 lengths, in a time of: 1:58.80.
NARRATED won Race 1 - MUDGEE LIONS CLUB CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1850m).
NARRATED has now taken her career tally to
7 starts = 2:2:2 with Prizemoney of
$57,060 including
two BOBS Bonuses.
A mare with a wonderful pedigree page, she is a daughter of Champion Sire
SNITZEL from the wonderful racemare
FICTIONAL ACCOUNT (IRE) – the
Champion Staying Mare of Ireland.
The
Ciaron Maher Racing Team at Warwick Farm have presented our horse in
excellent order, to allow
Team Dynamic to place her to advantage for her owners.
With any mare bred like this well, it’s vital for her
commercial residual value, to
build her race resume and with now
2 Wins and a Metropolitan placing on her pedigree page, she has established herself to be
an in-demand mare when racetrack retirement eventually comes.
NARRATED was a dual acceptor on the day, holding a spot in Race 1 at Mudgee over 1850m and Race 1 at Wyong over 1600m.
Based upon the belief that
she could win either race, we
elected to run at Mudgee as the 1850m would suit her pedigree genetics better than a mile around the tighter Wyong track.
We were also going up 150m in distance at Mudgee from the 1700m the previous race start, rather than back 100m at Wyong.
She was well-weighted under Set Weights at Mudgee, rather than Handicap conditions at Wyong.
Whilst she was allotted 57.0kgs in both races, because Mudgee was a Set Weights race the handicapper couldn’t give her a true weight, which at time of acceptance would have been 59.0kgs with the rest of the field on the limit at 55.0kgs, so NARRATED was beautifully placed at Mudgee.
Another key consideration was the fact our Owners would earn more prizemoney by Winning at Mudgee, which carried $12,280 first prize plus a
BOBS Extra Bonus for which she is eligible, of
$5,625 offering a total
$17,905 earnings, as opposed to the prizemoney to the winner at Wyong was
$16,740 but there was no BOBS Extra Bonus upon that race. So Mudgee was worth
$1,165 more to the winner.
Weaker grade, better suited distance, better handicap weight, and better prizemoney, it all added-up to a comfortable jog, trot, canter victory for our talented mare.
Sent out at the prohibitively short price of
$1.30 favourite, having been backed in after scratchings from $1.65,
NARRATED won like a long odds-on hope should, recording an eased down win defeating Front Row Ticket (57.0kgs) ($12) by 2.23 lengths, with Rusty Hawk (59.0kgs) ($9.50) in third spot 2.82 lengths behind the winner.
With the leading rider
BRODIE LOY in the saddle, he was asked to take bad luck out of the equation by being positive to ensure not getting stuck in a pocket behind lesser quality horses. As the gates crashed back, Brodie rolled straight to the front and
NARRATED led throughout, scoring a comfortable victory.
Brodie rated our mare perfectly in the run, holding the lead on the fence and turning the screws from the 500m, getting those chasing her out of their comfort zone.
Such was the ease, and the feel
NARRATED was giving Brodie in the saddle, as they passed the 100m mark,
NARRATED was 3 lengths in front and our rider had plenty of horse under him that he rode hands and heels to the 50m where he had another look over his shoulder to ensure nothing was coming and then, he sat up on our mare, to allow her to ease down to not much more than a canter across the line, as those chasing were being hard ridden.
Winning this race was nice, but we have better class races in mind for this mare.
However, it’s about laying the right foundation stones of distance and racecraft, and allowing our horse to build her racing confidence, and keeping her Benchmark rating low, whilst our owners bank cheques along the way.
This preparation she won first up over 1400m on a Heavy 9 at Nowra. Then she went up in class to a Bm 64 provincial grade at the transferred meeting from Kembla to Goulburn over 1400m on a Heavy 10, where fitness just caught her late, beaten just 1.32 lengths. Then 3rd up at Scone, which was another transferred Newcastle provincial meeting, she was up to 1700m but found one better on the day and then was nosed out of second spot when finishing 3rd by 1.35 lengths.
Back to country grade at Mudgee, at a better distance, she was successful as we expected.

This win recorded Dynamic Syndications 3rd Win for the new 2021/22 Racing Season and our 729th Overall Race Win.
A big thanks to the Team at CIARON MAHER Racing’s Warwick Farm stables under Jack Bruce. The horse looks a treat and races accordingly. The staff are doing a terrific job.
The time has now come for her to rise in class. The exciting aspect here is that we believe she will be so much better in the autumn than she will be in the spring.
As she continues to develop and mature, she will be so much stronger, and she is a genuine stayer in the making.
We have no doubt she is
metropolitan class and next preparation we will be in for
some serious fun.
This preparation was a craft learning experience. She is paying her way and improving leaps and bounds.
A classical looking European style staying filly, she gives the impression she will be get a solid 2400m with ease, which opens some exciting options.
This preparation we will continue to go through her grades and then, a short let-up to give her a chance to run on better track surfaces which we believe she will appreciate more than the boggy ground she is currently racing upon.
Onwards and Upwards!
