NSW Owners the Beneficiaries with Big Increases to BOBS Bonus Structure
NSW Owners the Beneficiaries with Big Increases to BOBS Bonus Structure

Racing NSW
has announced that its
BOBS Bonus Scheme
has been
overhauled and enhanced
by the creation of a three-tiered structure.
It’s set to be
Platinum, Gold and Silver Categories with bonuses extending up to $100,000.
There are
no changes to the current existing BOBS Bonuses which will remain
however they will be referred to as
BOBS Silver
and continue to apply to all the races that already carry BOBS Bonuses.
Commencing from
January 2020,
selected races will have a
BOBS Platinum Bonus of $100,000 or a BOBS Gold bonus of $50,000,
offered for the winners of those race
if they are paid-up for BOBS Bonus.
These BOBS Platinum and BOBS Gold races will be open to all horses that have been nominated for any BOBS series
.
Importantly the first big change is that previously the BOBS Scheme would finish when the horse became a
4yo
unless they were paid up for the secondary scheme known as
BOBS Extra
which kicked-in at races over
1800m.
Now for the first time, Platinum and Gold BOBS Bonuses will apply to horses aged four years and older at races less than 1800m.
This brings those horses who had fallen out of the BOBS Scheme when turning 4yo’s the opportunity to race for bonus monies again.
These BOBS Platinum and BOBS Gold bonus races will be held at locations throughout NSW.
As before, owners winning BOBS Platinum Bonuses may forego taking the initial cash payment and Double-Up their cash bonus to $160,000 in vouchers, which can be used to buy or breed a thoroughbred, making the total BOBS Platinum Bonus from $100,000 to a possible $180,000.
Similarly, owners winning BOBS Gold bonuses may double up their cash bonus to $80,000, with the total BOBS Gold Bonus offered, being up to $90,000 from $50,000.
The BOBS Platinum and BOBS Gold Bonuses will commence at
Muswellbrook on Friday 3 January 2020.
Other races with new bonuses added to them include at Kensington 4 January 2020, Royal Randwick 11 January 2020, Moruya on 17 January 2020, Tamworth on 23 January 2020 and Kembla Grange on 29 January 2020.

For the first 3 months of 2020,
three (3) Platinum Bonuses
have been set down with
two (2) at Kembla and one at Gosford
.
Whilst
10 Gold Bonuses
have been set down.
Two (2) are in the city, one each at
Randwick and Kensington
.
Whilst the other
eight (8)
are located around NSW with one each at:
Newcastle, Muswellbrook, Moruya, Tamworth, Wagga, Grafton, Dubbo
and
Armidale.
Credit to the
Board of Racing NSW
for injecting this into the
BOBS Bonus
system where graduates are restricted to progeny of NSW based stallions that the stallion was paid up for the scheme and then the individual horse was paid up for the BOBS Scheme.
Dynamic Syndications will look to targeting as many of these Platinum and Gold Bonuses for our Owners.
