Seven days ago, we reported that
exciting first crop sire SHALAA (by Invincible Spirit) had sired 4 winners in 8 days, taking his overall tally to nine (9) 2yo winners in his first crop in Europe.
Over the weekend,
Arrowfield Stud’s exciting first crop shuttle sire added to his growing reputation and instant success as a stallion with
a new winner in England and a Listed Race runner-up in Ireland.
Shalaa’s daughter named -
No Speak Alexander – has continued to build on her maiden win in July and her Group 2 fourth placing in August with a solid effort to finish
runner-up by 3/4 length in Saturday’s Ingabelle S. LR a 7-furlong (1400m) event at Leopardstown.
No Speak Alexander became Shalaa’s second stakes performer joining Saeiqa who has run 3rd in the Gr2 Royal Ascot Coventry S.
Whilst
Shalaalaa has run 4th at Cork in the Marble Hill S.,
Gr.3 and
Cherie Amour has run 4th at Deauville in the Prix Six Perfections,
Gr.3
Then on Sunday,
Shalaa added his 10th first-crop 2yo winner to his tally when Shalaa Asker (ex Miracle Seeker by Rainbow Quest) scored by almost two lengths over 5 furlongs (1000m) at Chelmsford in England.
This continues the
fantastic start for the exciting first crop sire.
As he begins serving his fourth book of Australian mares, Shuttle Sire
SHALAA (IRE) with his first crop European 2yo runners is showing why he has been so popular in both hemispheres.
SHALAA (IRE) - off to a flying start as a 2yo Sire in Europe
Shalaa is the
only Shuttle Stallion on the roster at Arrowfield Stud in 2020 where he is standing the 2020 season at a Service Fee of
$33,000.
The
2015 Champion 2yo of England and France, was rated by world class jockey Frankie Dettori as
"the fastest 2yo he has ever ridden."
Meanwhile, his first Australian 2yo’s are in the care of Australia’s leading stables and racing management such as leading syndicators
Dynamic Syndications and leading stables like
Waterhouse & Bott, Ciaron Maher and
Chris Waller, and these industry leaders simply had to have a Shalaa in their care.
That’s one of the many reasons why he averaged over five (5) times his service fee across all yearling sales in 2020, whilst his major yearling sales average was over
$230,000 and his yearlings sold up to
$600,000.
Shalaa as a type, is packed with quality and athleticism which he has been able to pass into his foals from his first crops.
He was a natural, high-class 2yo, winning 5 of his six starts at 2, including two (2) Gr1 races.
What’s exciting is that
Shalaa is the best 2yo son of his champion sire Invincible Spirit, whose sons
I Am Invincible, Kingman and
Cable Bay are proving so successful in Australia and Europe.
Another exciting aspect is that
Shalaa’s sireline works brilliantly with the Danehill line, which we have so much of here in Australia.
He has been well supported by breeders in Australia covering more than
450 mares in his first 3 seasons in Australia and he is assured to get good support again in 2020 whilst Arrowfield have committed 34 of their elite mares to the sire this Spring.
This takes
Shalaa’s tally of European first-crop juvenile winners to

The progeny of
Shalaa are running and performing well and professionals here in Australia are eager to see what his first crop will do down here.
Dynamic Syndications currently have
available limited shares in a stunning filly with a sensational pedigree.
Our Filly - Shalaa x Talented Miss
This is a filly that we highly recommend to our loyal owners.
Massive upside, minimal downside, this gilt-edged filly offers terrific racing opportunities.
Our filly has one of the
most exciting commercial pedigrees in the
Australian Stud Book has
grown fatter with the recent addition of even more up close
saturated Bold Black-Type (results in stakes races recorded by the Stud Book) in the past few days.
As a result, the commercial value of our own
SHALAA (IRE) x TALENTED MISS now 2yo bay filly continues to grow whilst our filly remains grazing in the paddock.
The mare
SEASONS (Sebring x Acouplamas) added further black type to her pedigree
over the weekend.
Seasons ran
3rd in the
Gr2 Sheraco Stakes at
Rosehill.
This is now
three (3) stakes performances in a row and the mare has been luckless in her past two starts.
First up this preparation
Seasons added an
extremely important and
highly valuable Gr3 placing in the
ATC Toy Show at Randwick.
Whilst this gifted racemare had already earned minor black type when she finished
fourth in the Gr3 ATC Birthday Card at her most recent start in March prior to going for a short break, this Sheraco Stakes is the
third addition to her name in
Bold Black Type on the pedigree page.
Her form now reads in the pedigree page:
Seasons (f Sebring) 4 wins at 1200m, 1250m, A$271,430, to 2019-20,
ATC All Too Hard at Vinery H., Australian Turf Club H., UNSW H.,
Tab.com.au P., 2d ATC Catanach's H., Book Summer Hospitality H.,
Theraces P., 3d ATC Sheraco S., Gr.2, Toy Show H., Gr.3, 4th
ATC Birthday Card S., Gr.3.
SEASONS
SEASONS was a genuine case of a certainty beaten when she finished just 0.3 lengths from the winner Sweet Deal in the
Toy Show despite being locked up with nowhere to go over the final 150m of her race.
Whilst history repeated on Saturday when she couldn't get out to finish just 1.1 lengths from the winner.
SEASONS certainly looks set for a promising Spring carnival ahead.
Our SHALAA (IRE) x TALENTED MISS filly is the “Dream Purchase” that professional buyers search for.
She has seen massive
saturation of
Black Type and as a result, our filly’s own commercial value has achieved a
massive 100% increase since we swooped to secure her in January at the Magic Millions.
Simply if our filly was to be sold through an auction sale today rather than in January, the competition for her would increase and she would sell for twice as much as we paid for her.
Let’s review what’s happened:
SHALAA (IRE) First Crop Sire in Australia
It’s the
female side of a pedigree which determines commercial value and our filly’s pedigree has
exploded in black-type over the past few months.
Here is the updated extended Stud Book Pedigree Page where to follow the improvements in the family and identify what wasn't on the page at the yearling sales, we have highlighted these updates in yellow:
TALENTED MISS (by AL MAHER) the Dam of our filly, was a
winner of 2 races. Our filly is her first foal.
TALENTED MISS is the
Full-Sister to ACOUPLAMAS (the name is pronounced A-Couple-of-Mars).
ACOUPLAMAS
Dynamic Syndications purchased ACOUPLAMAS as a yearling and raced her with success.
She earned black type herself before being sold as a breeding prospect after she retired from racing.
QUICK THINKER
Since we purchased our filly in January,
ACOUPLAMAS produced a
So You Think colt named
QUICK THINKER to win the
Gr1 ATC Derby and Gr2 ATC Tulloch Stakes.
ACOUPLAMAS had already produced another Stakes-placed youngster named
THE AUGUST.
THE AUGUST
Since we purchased our filly,
THE AUGUST was exported to Singapore where he has subsequently
won taking his tally to 3 wins.
Now
ACOUPLAMAS has added further black type as a broodmare thanks to the abovementioned Stakes Placing with
SEASONS to this strong female pedigree.
The commercial value of our filly has
literally doubled with the addition of these major race success updates which has become a significant advantage for our loyal Dynamic Owners that will own and race this filly.
Dynamic Syndications would
never increase the share price to reflect this increase in commercial value despite the
100% increase.
That’s a
WIN for our owners to instantly enjoy and financially benefit from.
Importantly our filly’s residual value is now
well assured because
ANY commercial breeder who ultimately purchases her as a broodmare when her racing days with Dynamic Syndications conclude, should they choose to send her to
SO YOU THINK, genetically they will create a
3/4 relation-in-blood to Gr1 ATC Derby winner QUICK THINKER and that magical pedigree as a commercial yearling, would be of
Easter standard where Australia’s most expensive yearlings are offered for sale.
Our Filly - SHALAA (IRE) x TALENTED MISS
This has made our SHALAA (IRE) x TALENTED MISS 2yo Bay Filly a “gilt-edged” equine investment.
Our filly’s owners will have the security that she will be an
in-demand mare even if she didn’t reach top standard on the racetrack.
This filly has the potential to be one of the closest opportunities to
“Risk-Free” racing available.
The massive upside here is, should she achieve what we consider she is capable of achieving and should she live up to the big wraps already placed upon her by her educator and she does achieve black type herself, then on this highly desirable commercial pedigree page, she could well realise massive figures as a broodmare upon her retirement and that doesn’t account for the huge prizemoney that our owners would bank along the way.
Our Filly with Australian Olympian SHANE ROSE in the saddle
There are only a handful of genuine equine racing and breeding opportunities available each season with negligible downside and massive upside to them.
Our filly has
ticked these boxes thanks to the deeds of her close relations whilst our lass is safely grazing in the paddock.
We love our industry!
Where else can you see your money double whilst your horse is eating grass?
