Undefeated two-year-old Oxymore was
one of four (4) impressive winners for
promising young sire ASTERN over the past few days.
In the USA,
Oxymore made his Stakes class debut a Winning one, as he out-toughed No Nay Hudson in the straight to win the
Skidmore Stakes by over a length at Saratoga last week.

The two-year-old gelding
son of ASTERN was heading to the races for his new connections whom had purchased him privately after his
six-and-a-half length romp in his debut at Belmont Park in July.
Now trained by Eclipse Award winner Chad Brown,
Oxymore remains perfect in two career starts.
Oxymore showed good speed out of the gates and immediately was sent up to dispute the early lead alongside Jeremy’s Jet (Street Sense).
Oxymore shook off Jeremy’s Jet at the 800m, but was soon annoyed by No Nay Hudson who joined in. That duo matched strides through to the final 100m, where Oxymore proved too strong for No Nay Hudson to post the victory.
Oxymore was one of four (4) who found the winners circle over the past few days her sire Astern, which saw the
Saratoga win, two greet the judge at Del Mar and another juvenile at Canterbury.
Astern’s other winners were:
Brandon'smylawyer won over 1000m on the turf at Del Mar earning an 86 Beyer rating.
Gillian Elizabeth won over 1600m on the turf at Del Mar by 5¼ lengths.
Right of Refusal a 2yo filly won on the dirt on debut at Canterbury.
These results have flowed on after the terrific wins by his progeny here in Australia over the past fortnight, which includes
the win of current Caulfield Guineas favourite AFT CABIN, plus the city win of
ARNAQUEUR and provincial win by
FOR ARI.
ASTERN this season became a Third Crop Sire in Australia.
