NZ Bloodstock’s Yearling Sales has an incredible record of success. Therefore, as bloodstock investors, owners cannot dismiss the incredible opportunities available in this sale-ring.
Overall the NZ Premier Sale was extremely strong again in 2017. The average was
$172,803, the median was
$140,000 whilst the aggregate rose to
$59,407,500 with
338 yearlings sold which was a clearance of
78%.
The sale continues to produce world beaters season after season which made a compelling argument as to why
Dynamic Syndications had to venture back across the ditch in 2017 to potentially find our next champions to wear the Dynamic silks.
The 2015-16 racing season’s racetrack results continued to hammer home the reason why we go to NZ and buy.
Kiwi sold yearlings won a massive 25% of the Australian Gr1 races.
However, these Kiwi graduates only make up 5.4% of the Australian racing population.
Another fabulous fact for buying in NZ is that 32% of Australian 3yo Group 1 races have been won by these horses in the past 6 years.
It’s the Carnivals, the Cups, the Derby’s, the Classics and the big Miles that all had Kiwi sold yearlings recorded in the results.
Horses like: Mongolian Khan, Tarzino, Turn Me Loose, Prince of Penzance, Lucia Valentina, Sofia Rosa, Tavago, Sacred Elixir, Music Magnate, etc all came out of the NZB sale ring.
You don’t come to NZ to purchase the precocious, early speed horses for which Australia produce the best in the world in our own backyard.
Kiwi horses are traditionally time horses. They grow in a cooler climate on lush limestone pastures. The Kiwi breeder is a patient horseman and prepared to give the thoroughbred an unhurried start to life.
As a result, they are physically immature to their Australian peers but by the 2yo Autumn they have caught up and when the 3yo Spring arrives, the Kiwi’s come out and fire.
Having purchased 12 yearlings at the 2017 Magic Millions to satisfy our need for 2yo speed, Team Dynamic arrived in NZ to “pick the eyes out” of the Premier sale.
We only want the “
Best Of The Best” however, with the lucrative bonus monies available in Australia which are not eligible to NZ based stallions, we came over to buy a yearling by the Best Sires -
either a REDOUTE’S CHOICE or a FASTNET ROCK and because their sires are based in the Hunter Valley, they are eligible for BOBS.
As it turned out we brought
2 sensational colts - One by both sires at prices that we would never have been able to buy these colts if they had been sold in Australia.
From Cambridge Stud: REDOUTE’s CHOICE x LOVETESSA colt $150,000
From Hallmark Stud: FASTNET ROCK x TEMPLE OF PEACE colt $150,000
Details of both our yearling purchases are found in the individual website stories and will feature on our website once we have submitted documents and they are approved for syndication.
