Dynamic Trainer Peter Moody advised us several weeks ago that he had acquired 24 boxes at Randwick.
His move was based upon several reasons but the two major points were (a) an increase in box numbers to 24 because he only had 10 boxes at Rosehill and (b) the massive inducement of the BOBS Scheme.
Luke Nolen & Peter Moody - Dynamic Duo
Dynamic Syndications and Peter Moody have teamed up well in the past and we always buy quality yearlings together with the majority being eligible for BOBS rather than VOBIS because the most commercial sires are standing in the Hunter Valley. So it was just a common sense business decision for the Champion Trainer of Melbourne to avail himself and his owners to the luxury of the BOBS bonuses in Sydney.
Among Peter Moody's key clients such as Dynamic Syndications and several prominent NSW breeders, all of whom benefit from having their horses earning BOBS bonuses.
Moody acknowledged: "I'd rather win 50 races in Melbourne and 40 in Sydney than 90 in Melbourne and win a premiership."
With a 4th Melbourne premiership looking likely, Moody said: "We've done the premiership thing now, it's ticked off the resume."
It’s like a homecoming of sorts for Peter Moody who learn’t his craft as a young man working for the big stables at Randwick.
With stables in both States, Peter Moody will also be able to target the equally enticing Super VOBIS & VOBIS Gold incentives in Victoria.
What’s the difference between BOBS and VOBIS ?
BOBS is for horses by NSW based sires that have been paid up for the scheme.
VOBIS is for horses by Victorian based sires paid up for that scheme.
These bonuses are only offered in the applicable state. Therefore VOBIS horses are ineligible to be won in NSW and BOBS horses ineligible for the bonuses to be won in Victoria.
