PRIDE OF DUBAI is the
fastest 2YO by Champion sire
STREET CRY and is the only horse to complete the
Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes 1200m / Gr.1 Sires’ Produce Stakes 1400m double.
PRIDE OF DUBAI as a Racehorse
STREET CRY was a super sire and his best-known deed is that of being the Sire of
WINX.
PRIDE OF DUBAI is off to the perfect start!!
He is Australia’s Leading First Crop Sire. His first crop progeny already includes:
TANKER - won the Listed Debutant Stakes at Caulfield by 2¼ lengths on debut for Ciaron Maher & David Eustace
Dubai Star - winner for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, finished runner-up in the Listed Merson Cooper Stakes
Sense Of Honour - impressive 3-length debut winner at Sandown for Mick Price & Mick Kent Jnr
Maha - dual winner for Tony & Calvin McEvoy
True Mettle - maiden plate winner for trainer Dean Grass at Cranbourne
Thudson - debut winner for Peter and Paul Snowden
Platinum Dubai - made all to win the Otaki Mail for two-year-olds on debut by 1¾ lengths for trainer Lisa Latta
Bella Nipotina – Black-Type performed in 4 of 5 starts including runner-up in the Listed Inglis Banner 2YO Stakes at Moonee Valley
PRIDE of the Freshmen
Stallion - PRIDE OF DUBAI
That a
Coolmore Stud sire leads the way in the first season sires battle is not surprising, but it is perhaps a little unexpected that it is
PRIDE OF DUBAI that is on top, rather than
VANCOUVER.
Both were elite 2-year-olds, with Pride Of Dubai, a Gr1 Blue Diamond winner and Vancouver, by Medaglia D'Oro (USA) victorious in the Gr1 Golden Slipper S.
Vancouver was the top seed when they both went to stud in 2016, each standing at $55,000, with Vancouver covering 200 mares whilst Pride of Dubai covered 177.
Vancouver's progeny certainly proved the more desirable at the 2019 yearling sales with his first crop yearlings, with
Vancouver producing an average of $180,886 and a median of $125,000, while Pride Of Dubai averaged $108,732, with a median of $80,000.
But so far on the track, it has been the progeny of Pride Of Dubai that have been getting the job done ahead of his farm mate and that sales trend
swung around.
In 2020, Pride Of Dubai has averaged $128,340 with a median at $92,500 whilst Vancouver was an average of $106,293 and a median of $82,500.
Pride Of Dubai has the advantage of having had more runners to the track, 20 in all (compared to Vancouver's 11), but he has also had a consistent flow of winners, with 6 in Australia and 1 in New Zealand. A big advantage for Vancouver supporters is from 11 runners, he has produced 4 stakes placed progeny.
As for Pride Of Dubai,
TANKER set the scene with an early-season stakes win, while he has also had two stake placegetters in
Bella Nipotina and
Dubai Star.
In the first season sires ranks, Pride Of Dubai has
a clear lead of $
363,030 over his closest peer Spill The Beans which is significant and, he has a Stakes Winner and two Stakes Placegetters over Spill The Beans who has had 4 more runners for the same number of 6 winners however Spill The Beans runners have been predominantly Queensland country class and he has not yet produced a black-type performer.
A dual Group 1 winning two-year-old, Pride of Dubai comes from the same female family that has produced champion two-year-old sires Invincible Spirit and Kodiac, so his burgeoning success should come as no surprise to anyone however what is remarkable is that his progeny looked as if they would all be better suited as 3yos with a little more time to mature and grow into their frames.
So, to be a clear leader so deep into the season is a testament to the sire’s ability to uplift his mares and his future first crop 3yos appear set to be in for a boom season.
As at 25 March 2020
Leading Sire by Earnings with $363,030 in front of his nearest rival

Dynamic Syndications first yearling purchased on day one of the 2020 yearling sales circuit was a top colt with a booming pedigree.
LOT 27 at the Magic Millions was a our colt by PRIDE OF DUBAI from the Gr2 Winning and 3 x Gr1 placed mare VORMISTA.
Our Colt in pre-training after being broken-in
And as for VORMISTA she has had 5 foals to race all winners including REEMAH who was a close up second to PRIDE OF DUBAI in the Gr1 Blue Diamond.
Here is the photo evidence -
PRIDE OF DUBAI (inside) defeats REEMAH in the 2016 Blue Diamond
So its in the DNA as much as its in his conformation that this colt we purchased could line up in the same race as his Dad and ½ Sister.
Here are the FACTS at a Glance:
