A big THANK YOU to our
Dynamic Canberra Trainers Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones for a marvellous piece of horsemanship in turning around our problem child
HOLYROODHOUSE to win his maiden at his 5th start.
HOLYROODHOUSE winning eased down
A bigger cheer is reserved for our DYNAMIC OWNERS of HOLYROODHOUSE who have remained loyal throughout and showed great patience as we nursed their horse back to a workable soundness when 12 months ago it was a 50 / 50 call if he would ever race.

HOLYROODHOUSE as a yearling at the sales
On Sunday at Moruya,
HOLYROODHOUSE was facing the starter for the 5th time in his racing career and the 3rd time this preparation and 3rd time for
dynamic duo mother and son training partnership of Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones from Canberra.
Paul Jones co-trainer Returning to the Winner's Circle with Jockey Michael Travis
Originally with gun young Randwick trainer
James Cummings, our horse developed knee issues as a young horse and had to be managed intently to be able to have a racing career.
With patience, James and Dynamic worked together and with maturity the horse was nursed back to care.
James always declared that our horse had the ability to win races however it would be very expensive to have him trained out of Randwick for extended periods of rehabilitation work. So jointly we made the decision to send the horse to outstanding horse people Barbara and Paul who have the patience, facilities and experience to polish
HOLYROODHOUSE to give the best for his owners, whatever that may prove to be?
HOLYROODHOUSE is by HIGH CHAPARRAL a noted site of horses that were best at a trip of over 2000m from a mare
QUEEN'S SUITE a daughter of Marauding, another sire of stout progeny.
Built like a stayer and bred to run a trip, our expectations were always that the horse would need a mile plus to be at a distance to show up.
On his first run for the
Joseph / Jones Training Partnership, HOLYROODHOUSE raced at 1400m at Moruya, where he got back and run on strongly to finish 5th of 14 only 2.5 lens from the winner. That was a very encouraging effort.
Then at his second start, we took him to Nowra on 21st August in a strong Class 1 over 1600m. However we experimented with a lugging bit and blinkers and the horse resented these and pulled hard early in that race and spent his petrol before the turn. He maintained his effort to the post but was not a winning chance, finishing seventh.
Just 7 days later there was this event at Moruya - a maiden 1660m event. We were not keen to back up in seven days off a torrid run however the horse had pulled up very well and despite a lot nominating for this race, we felt we needed to run otherwise there was far too long before his next race being available in the racing calendar.
So we elected to start. Having noted the horse over raced last start, the blinkers were removed and the lugging bit was removed and a Norton bit was applied.
The final aspect was tactics. We knew through training this horse could rattle off strong final sections so we were keen for our rider to get our horse to settle at the tail of the field and start working into the race from the 600m.
Ridden to instruction by experienced hoop Michael Travis,
HOLYROODHOUSE jumped from barrier 2 in a field 14. Restrained early to the tail, he was so far back early he was out of camera shot which was over 20 lengths at this point.
Starting to sneak forward from the 800m
HOLYROODHOUSE was 13th of 14 a dozen lengths away.
At the 600m, still 13th of 14 and 10 lengths off the pace, jockey Michael Travis angled
HOLYROODHOUSE off the fence to 4 wide, tracking forward.
In a lightning furlong,
HOLYROODHOUSE swooped up deep on the track, swinging for home 7 deep covering significant extra ground.
However with momentum he kept his forward charge.
As they balanced up we were still 6 lengths off the leaders.
By the time they reached the 100m
HOLYROODHOUSE was closing fast but was still 2 lengths off the leaders.
Over the final 100m he sprouted wings with his pedigree and type kicking in.
By the 50m mark he had caught the leaders and went past them in a blink to record a 1.3 lens x Head win.
They ran
1:41.55 for the 1660m coming home in
36.71 secs.
HOLYROODHOUSE ran his last 600m in a slick
35.60 secs.
The win of
HOLYROODHOUSE was the
467th Race Win for Dynamic Syndications horses since our first runner was a winner in
October 2005.
He also became our
4th Winner for this
new 2016/17 Racing Season.
Also HOLYROODHOUSE became Dynamic Syndications 158th individual winner from 177 individual runners.
That is a winners : runners strike rate of 89.3%.

Finally we reiterate that we CONGRATULATE our OWNERS of HOLYROODHOUSE for their support and patience which was reserved for this Top Win
