Australian Racing Board chairman, the Hon. Michael Duffy has announced the appointment of Peter McGauran as new Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Racing Board.
The continuing advancement of the racing industry is on display again with the successful restructure appointment of outstanding personnel to the head of the AUSTRALIAN RACING BOARD (ARB).
With recently appointed Chairman MICHAEL DUFFY and his newly appointed Deputy Chairman JOHN MESSARA at the helm, there was a genuine need for a professional and industry aware Chief Executive Officer to administer its progressive stance.
Dynamic Syndications were delighted to hear that PETER McGAURAN has been appointed to this role.
Peter, from his political background was instrumental to the thoroughbred industry surviving the EI Crisis. Peter served in public life for 25 years as the Federal Member for Gippsland with ten years as a Minister in various portfolios including Agriculture.
Peter has a close working relationship with John Messara and has rapidly created his own identity within the thoroughbred industry through his work as CEO of Thoroughbred Breeders Australia for three years.
Peter has worked for the past 12 months with Racing NSW as Director of Strategy, Marketing and Public Affairs. This would have given Peter a valuable insight to political aspects from a macro and micro perspective that affect the thoroughbred industry as a whole.
The ARB plays a crucial role in bringing state and territory Principal Racing Authorities together to develop a uniform approach to common problems and issues. This new “Dream Team” has the capabilities and skill set to breathe life back into the ARB which had appeared dormant to many industry participants for sometime.
At Dynamic Syndications, we look forward to significant advancement of our industry issues under these three talented and respected custodians.
