It’s always important to keep an eye on the development of yearlings as they come through the systems. These young horses have to be well educated and exercised without pressure so they can physically grow, developing bone and muscle, not being left in the paddock to graze and develop a grass belly.
At Dynamic Syndications our programme remains flexible for yearlings but involves:
*
A short break in the paddock to unwind from the sales
*
Breaking-in and early education work (4-5 weeks).
*
Straight from the breakers to pre-trainers then off for a short spell.
*
Come back into pre-training for 3-4 weeks and head back out to the paddock.
*
After a short break they come back into pre-training for a third session of educational pre-training before heading into the racing stables of their trainer.
During this time it’s fascinating to watch the horses grow and develop. Especially as we have the
change of seasons from Summer, Autumn and Winter
before they go through the
early Spring growth spurt.
Also from arriving at the spelling farm with slick, shiny coats achieved under a sales preparation, to thick winter coats to protect themselves from the cold.
Obviously there are those horses that come to hand quicker than others. Those bred to be precocious 2yo types to those slower maturing 3yo types that need trips of 1600m and further.
Here is a gallery of our two current offerings:
