READY TO PROPHET scores an easy win
READY TO PROPHET in the Winner's Circle
Girls just wanna have fun ! Some of the Ladies Ownership Team celebrate in the Winner's Room
READY TO PROPHET (Smart Missile x Ready To Live) celebrated the Horse’s Birthday and becoming a 3yo in magnificent fashion for her
ALL LADIES Ownership Team by scooting along in front for a sizzling win in the TAB Handicap, a 3yo Fillies Maiden over 1100m, running 1:04.31 with a last 600m of 34.19 secs, scoring by 2.3 lengths over runner-up Mizzy with 0.1 length back to Sylvia’s Mother who finished third.
READY TO PROPHET won $31,970 inc a $10,000 BOBS Bonus.
Ridden perfectly by pilot Tim Clark who coincidentally was also celebrating his own birthday, READY TO PROPHET jumped in front from barrier 1 and that was it, she was never headed, going on to score by a widening 2.3 lengths despite being eased down in the run to the line.
Returning to scale, Tim Clark reported to an excited team of lady owners that “it was a nice win but she has a lot of improvement to come. She was never threatened or challenged in the run and I knew I had them off the bit.
“I gave her a squeeze and she lengthened nicely but then she stargazed a bit. She will win a lot better races than this and has a few lengths improvement in her when she learns what racing’s all about.
“She will get a bit further too and she had a bit of a blow so she will improve a fair bit in fitness after that.”
READY TO PROPHET had always shown ability from the day she was put under saddle.
READY TO PROPHET has the stable name
“Pudding” based upon her physique. As a young horse she was as round as she was high and the poor filly only had to look at a feed tin to put on weight. Pudding offered a challenge to get fit but Gai and Adrian were up to that task.
The team were very upbeat when she faced the starter for the first time however things didn’t pan out in that run at Canterbury on 4/7. She over raced over the 1250m. It was a Soft 7 and shifting surface. The sizzling early sectionals and a lack of match fitness and lack of confidence in the going combined late and she simply ran out of gas with 150m to run so wasn’t extended the post.
The brilliance of Gai Waterhouse kicked straight into action after that and Gai was convinced
READY TO PROPHET (aka Pudding) simply wasn’t fit enough. So nine days later, Gai trialled our filly again where she put on an awesome display to win her trial by 4 lengths in quick time.
Gai and Adrian then picked out this race which gave the stable another 19 days to present her back to the races fitter and further educated.
Pudding looked a treat in the pre race parade and Gai knew she had her horse ready for battle. She had instructed Tim to make a statement and take no prisoners and the race unfolded as we expected.
Connections were confident and supported their filly accordingly. When markets were first posted as much as $14 was available and from that moment she was backed and backed again. Race morning she was $7.50 and kept firming at every call to start at $3.20.
A big thanks goes to Gai & Adrian and the whole team at Tulloch Lodge who have done a terrific job with pudding to create her into a promising racing prospect.
