Adam Watt (Dynamic Syndications) with Ready to Prophet - $40,000 MM purchase for Dynamic Syndications / Dean Watt Bloodstock (FBAA)
Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, our three year-old filly READY TO PROPHET showed serious stakes potential last year when at her third career start finished fourth to subsequent Gr2 winner Fiesta, subsequent Listed Winner Outback Barbie and stakes Winner Futooh and in the race she defeated subsequent Gr1 Winner Oohood and Group 3 Winners Meryl and Laburnum, in the Group 2 ATC Silver Shadow Stakes, but then had issues at her two subsequent starts and was spelled.
With the benefit of good spell, she was resuming at Scone on Saturday and despite being easy in the early market in the last minute firmed from $41 into $26. Despite having no favours from a wide gate, she was tenacious to the line in running down high quality Zoustar filly Madam Rouge to defeat her by a Head to win the feature 3yo Sprint over the 1100m.

Gai Waterhouse said "She was wide and facing the breeze, but she just kept trying so it was very impressive."
Gai added “Ready To Prophet will continue up the highway to Brisbane and might head towards the Dane Ripper Stakes and maybe the Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara.”
“The filly is targeting Brisbane. She came here and will then go up there and keep winning,” Waterhouse said. “She is only going to get better.”
"In time I think she'll be even better at 1400 metres."
READY TO PROPHET defeated MADAM ROUGE by 0.15 length with PROPHET’S THUMB 1.5 lengths away in third spot in a time of 1:03.66 last 600m in 34.48.
Photo Finish
After the weigh-in Jet Pilot Adam Hyeronimus (with a soft drink in his hand to soak up sugar) said “The way she has been at home, I just had to ride her, she has come back a very good filly and she can go to Brisbane now after that win and keep going. She was very strong at the end despite a wide run.”
After acknowledging the Team at Tulloch Lodge for the work in getting the filly ready, credit for the win must also be acknowledged to “Adam Squared” (Adam Hyeronimus and Adam Watt) both of whom made a huge difference.
Firstly and without doubt, credit goes to ADAM HYERONIMUS our dedicated jockey. We targeted this race which was a Quality Handicap. We knew as a result we would get the limit or maybe half a kilogram over but it was when the weights came out we were on 53.0kgs along with most horses in the field.
This was a major concern for our jet pilot because he is a natural heavyweight normally riding at 55.0kgs and he struggles at this time of year to make 54.5kgs. ADAM knew how well Ready To Prophet was going and we wanted him to ride the filly but Adam Watt had to make a harsh decision, did he replace Adam with another rider that could make the weight or give Adam Hyeronimus the opportunity to get to 53.5kgs and ride Ready To Prophet 0.5kg over?
Adam Watt and Adam Hyeronimus had the chat and whilst we were happy to be a half-kilo over to keep Adam Hyeronimus aboard, could he make that weight by raceday?
This is where dedication and professionalism come in. Adam Hyeronimus basically starved himself from Tuesday. He exercised and sweated it out in the sauna having just 2 cubes of chocolate a day to keep his sugar levels and energy up.
Then on Saturday morning, he was still too heavy sitting at just over 54.0kgs so on the plane to Scone, Adam travelled in an uncomfortable sweat suit and then continued to sweat up in the jockey’s room until race time. Despite cutting it fine, he made the 53.5kgs weight allowed by the Stewards and that was the difference between Winning or Losing.
This sacrifice was exceptionally harsh upon Adam and he was a spent force after the post where he battled to stay in the saddle when pulling up and returning to scale, such was the toll the hard racing and hard riding to basically lift Ready To Prophet over the line took on his body. He was grey in colour, hunched over in pain and exhaustion waiting to come back to scale and was so weak when he dismounted, he couldn’t undo the saddle and required assistance from foreman Neil Paine.
An exhausted Adam Hyeronimus returns in pain and suffering after his courageous ride
As racing enthusiasts, too often we neglect the efforts of jockey’s and the sacrifices they make to allow Owners and trainers the opportunity of racetrack success.
We have no doubt the ride won the race for us however it’s the back stories that go unnoticed that need to be acknowledged.
The same with Adam Watt from Dynamic Syndications. This race was picked out for Ready To Prophet when she began her spell in mid-December 2018. The plan was always to head towards this event fresh because we believed she had the ability to be successful at stakes level. The Autumn Carnival in Sydney would be too soon for her and there was only one truly suitable race for her in the Brisbane Carnival.
So it was planned to have 3 trials and be ready to go into the Denise’s Joy Stakes over 1100m.
It’s fantastic when a plan comes off. She won her first trial back over 748m at Randwick on 29/3 and then was impressive winning her next trial over 1045m at Randwick on 15/4. Then a third trial at Randwick on 29/4 over 1045m when 3rd behind superstar Nature Strip and a head to Gododdin had her cherry-ripe and the form held up nicely with Gododdin winning impressively at Canterbury the 3 days earlier.
The biggest change however was to ensure we removed the blinkers from her, as we believe she resented those in her first preparation. So working closely with Gai & Adrian the decision was agreed to remove them and this was also a masterstroke.
Then when the barrier draw came out, we had to devise a strategy to offset the wide draw.
Fortunately we mapped the race believing there was a lot of speed in the field and there was several horses of lesser class that would get running early and despite Ready To Prophet being a natural front runner herself, this was an event where we shouldn’t get in a speed battle if we could avoid it.
So we elected to work forward and hopefully get a sit right behind the leaders. Working closely with the trainers Gai & Adrian and with tactics agreed, again the planets aligned, as the race panned out as Adam had mapped it, giving Ready To Prophet the best possible opportunity to win.
Therefore in review of the race win, we had a jockey that rode her a treat, despite being weakened by the heavy wasting. We had a jockey who believed in the filly and rode her perfectly to our requested race tactics and was so committed to win, he gave his all with an energy sapping result.
We had to carry 0.5kg more than the handicapper gave us and we had to overcome a wide barrier 13 against the best 3yo fillies in training.
This highlights what goes on to win a race. It’s no fluke. Whilst it doesn’t come off for connections everytime, if you don’t put in this type of effort you have little chance of success.

This was a massive result for our ALL LADIES Ownership syndicate.
It’s not just the $93,200 in prizemoney and BOBS she won in this race.
It’s the fact our well-bred READY TO PROPHET is now a Stakes Winner and has been Gr2 fourth which appears in the pedigree page. She is the winner of 2 races one at Warwick Farm and a Stakes Win at Scone in a feature 3yo sprint and she has won over $140,000 in prizemoney.
It’s her residual value which is now enormous as a broodmare that should see her valued at $300,000 plus when she is onsold as a broodmare when her racing days conclude and she is retired to stud.
From a modest $40,000 Magic Millions purchase by Dynamic Syndications / Dean Watt Bloodstock (FBAA) out of the Torryburn Stud draft, Ready to Prophet has delivered for her big group of happy lady owners.
Bred by Torryburn Stud, Ready Prophet is the best of four (4) winners from Stakes-Winning Ready to Live (USA), a More Than Ready mare who is a half-sister to the dam of Group 1 winner Itsmyluckyday.
Torryburn Stud sold Ready to Live last year at the Inglis Broodmare Sale in foal to Wandjina. She subsequently produced a filly and is in foal to Rich Enuff.
Ready to Prophet became the 12th stakes-winner for Smart Missile and was part of a trifecta of new stakes winners in the space of two days for the stallion and it couldn’t have come at a better time for Twin Hills Stud, who stand him at their Cootamundra-based farm.
That takes the stallion’s total for 2018-19 up to eight stakes winners, including his first Group 1 – Maid Of Heaven in the Spring Champion S. Off the back of that success and a record book of mares of 222 in his first season at his new home, Twin Hills recently announced his fee would move back to $22,000 (inc GST) having been $13,200 in his first year.
The win by READY TO PROPHET continues another great season for Dynamic Syndications Owners.
She became our 40th Winner for this season and our 582nd overall Race Win.
Later in the afternoon we recorded another winner with FRENZIED winning at
Kembla, he is also trained by Gai and Adrian.
