ROMANISED
(by Holy Roman Emperor – a son of Danehill) finished off with a rattling run to win the
Group 2 Paddy Power Minstrel Stakes 7f
(1400m) in a sizzling 1:22.07 and this registered his
second major Group Race success
at the famous Curragh racecourse.
ROMANISED winning the Gr2 Minstrel Stakes
This classy colt had already
won the Group One Irish 2,000 Guineas
in May 2018 and returned to winning ways after several creditable efforts since, including being desperately unlucky at Royal Ascot last start when 4th of 16 at Group One level in the Queen Anne Stakes (1600m) having been 4th in the Group One Lockinge S., at Newbury the star prior.
His resume now reads:
3 wins
-1 at 2-from 1200m to 1600m, £60,595, €346,839, to 2019, Irish Two Thousand Guineas,
Gr.1,
Curragh Minstrel S.,
Gr.2,
2d Sandown Solario S.,
Gr.3
, 4th Royal Ascot Queen Anne S.,
Gr.1
, Newbury Lockinge S.,
Gr.1.
This event was his third race Win with earnings now up to £368,297. He was a winner on debut over 1200m, then won his Group One over 1600m before claiming victory here over 1400m at Group Two level.
So why does Dynamic Syndications care about the career of
ROMANISED
?
It’s very important for
Dynamic Syndications
because we are currently syndicating a superb
SNITZEL Filly
from Ireland’s Champion mare FICTIONAL ACCOUNT.
Our SNITZEL x FICTIONAL ACCOUNT (IRE) Filly
Snitzel is a Champion Sire son of Redoute’s Choice who is a Champion Sire son of Danehill who is a son of Danzig.
Romanised is a Gr1 winning son of Holy Roman Emperor who is a son of Danehill who is a son of Danzig.
ROMANISED

1/2 brother to FICTIONAL ACCOUNT
and this mare was the
Champion Staying Mare in Ireland in 2011.

By
mating SNITZEL over FICTIONAL ACCOUNT
the breeder created our filly which is a

ROMANISED

3/4 brother named ROCK OF ROMANCE
. Rock of Romance is by Rock of Gibraltar - also a son of Danehill.
Therefore both

Romantic Venture.
Our Snitzel filly is therefore a 3/4 sister-in-blood to ROCK OF ROMANCE as well as ROMANISED.

About the PADDY POWER MINSTREL STAKES Gr2
:
Romanised was slowly away, but improved to be mid-field, 6th at halfway, he made good headway from 3rd spot from 200m out, then pressed the leader from 2nd position entering final 150m, quickening to lead over final 100m, then pushed along closing stages. Opening at 9/4 ($3.25) he was backed into 2/1 ($3.00) second favourite.
Jockey Billy Lee was not perturbed by Romanised being slowly away and was content to settle him mid-field as All The King's Men went off at a strong gallop.
Frankie Dettori had the 7-4 favourite Hey Gaman sitting in second place and kicked for home in the final 400m but Romanised very quickly made up plenty of ground to challenge and hit the front in the last 100m.
The colt pulled away to score by a length over Hey Gaman with Safe Voyage back in third.
There was no fairytale for Gordon Lord Byron, who never threatened at his 100th career start, although he was far from disgraced finishing 4.25 lens away in fourth.
Romanised trainer Ken Condon said
"It's lovely to see that. He's been in good shape this year.
"He had two lovely runs in Group One Company (this season) and appreciated dropping in grade to a Group two.
“Billy (jockey) was delighted with him and said when the gap came he quickened up very smartly.
"He said when he got to the front he was always just doing enough. He's gone very professional this year, more relaxed and easier to deal with. I thought it was a lovely performance.
"I'm pleased because you are nearly on a hiding to nothing, you're nearly expected to win and you'd be hoping that it works out like that, but it rarely does in racing."
He went on:
"He'll come out of the race well and he'll go to France for the Jacques le Marois (Gr1) next. There was just a big gap between Ascot and the Marois, eight weeks and I just thought he'd need something to keep him at a level. I'm delighted.
"I'd probably prefer to being going back to seven (1400m) with him rather than going a mile and one (1800m) or a mile and two (2000m) today.
"What helped was that Billy said they went a good pace. He needed them too really, to be fair. He said from halfway he was happy with him.
"I thought he quickened well there, he switched lead legs like a nice horse. He said when he got there he was like, 'oh I've enough done', which is nice as well. Billy was very good on him.
"I was kind of looking at the Prix de la Foret last year over seven (1400m), but thought maybe the round track at Longchamp would be too sharp for him. I don't know now. This win opens up options."
