ROSE WATER Records Class Record Debut for Dynamic DEAMER and Loyal OWNERS
ROSE WATER Records Class Record Debut for Dynamic DEAMER and Loyal OWNERS
29 Oct 24

It takes a
handy horse
to
win on debut
no matter where you take them. Let alone when you take them to a tricky track layout that traditionally takes experience to perform at your best.
Then you head to the sport, start a
short-priced favourite
, and
win with
“a leg in the air”
under
hands and heels
, and
win eased down
by a
widening margin.
Then they flash up the time and the
class record
has been
smashed
that stood for
16 years of 1:03.02
set back on
21-9-2008.
That was the owners realisation on Monday afternoon when
our Newcastle trained 3yo filly
ROSE WATER
(by CALYX x AQUA D‘AMORE)
faced the sport for the first time.
Our filly’s trainer Jason Deamer
had presented our filly in fabulous condition, and she was the pick of the yard and raced accordingly. Steered by team member and jet pilot
Ash Morgan
,
ROSE WATER
would see the camera flash as she posted a
One and a Half length victory
over Little Surprise with a further two lengths away was Rubinsky in third spot.
ROSE WATER
won Race 5, 1100m WERRIS CREEK CUP 14TH NOV F&M MAIDEN PLATE.
On a Good 3, she ran
1:02.84 (
class record
)
with a last 600m in: 33.61. 1st $13,950 + BOBS $5,625
ROSE WATER
(BOBS) A Morgan Jason Deamer 55.5 5 1:02:84 $2.50
LITTLE SURPRISE J Pracey-Holmes Gavin Groth 58kg 6 1.6L $8.50
RUBINSKY
R Downey
Jake Hull 56.5kg 3 3.52L $10
Jason has had
ROSE WATER
ready to go for a couple of weeks, but our team were just waiting upon the right race to start her off and build her confidence as a steppingstone for better races.
We elected to go to Quirindi on Monday because we felt the 1100m on debut for a 3yo filly was the best place to kick off and it was against her own sex. It proved the right call and our BOBS eligible 3yo filly banked the 1st prizemoney of $13,950 + the BOBS Bonus of $5,625 totalling $19,575 for not much more than an exhibition gallop.
The plan was to be positive early in the run and on our seed map we could see a couple of speedy squibs, so we could let them go and have a trail off them and follow them into the home turn and ease off their heels. Being a daughter of Group One winner
Aqua D’Amore
we expected her class and pedigree to come to the fore and she would be strong through the line.
It’s a
very satisfying
result when the plans come off as they did here with
ROSE WATER.
As the gates clanged back,
ROSE WATER
was away evenly with the rest of the field and Ash gave her a push along and she was a half-length clear after 50m before two speedsters (as expected) came out of the ruck and raced to the front. This gave Ash and
ROSE WATER
the perfect position, one pair back the fence in third spot with cover in a good rhythm. The race was effectively over from this point.
The tempo being set was too quick by Little Surprise on the fence and Miss Karis at its girth.
Ash was
giggling
as he was sitting patiently tracking the speed and following the paint.
Ash having ridden Quirindi so often knows most horses don’t handle the tight turn into the straight. A lot run wide as they try and crab their way around it. So, Ash elected to wait till the top of the lane and as expected, one runner Miss Karis rolled out and presented a gap as big as
“Sydney Heads”
at the top of the straight.
Ash moved up to the outside of the leader Little Surprise, who was holding the fence, but Ash didn’t push the
“go button”
yet because the tricky layout sees the field running downhill to the 200m.
At the 200m Ash gave
ROSE WATER
one flick to say time to go, and the filly bounded away and between the 200m and the 100m had put a two-length gap on the runner-up and daylight back to the rest of the cap catchers.
Such was the dominance it was an easy hands and heels to the post and the margin was maintained and the class record was smashed.
JOB DONE!
ROSE WATER
3yo Bay Filly D.O.B: 21-Sep-2021
by CALYX (GB) from AQUA D'AMORE

Racecaller: final 400m
:
1000m
800m
600m
“As they sweep up towards the point of the corner 400m left to go, the leader along the inside his Little Surprise leads narrowly from Miss Karis on the outside, in between the runners is Rubinsky, followed by Rose Water looming up too, and then followed by Kylangi.
350m
But at the 200 metres mark, it's Little Surprise with
ROSE WATER
coming up quickly to join it.
70m
30m
ROSE WATER
stuck her nose out in front. Now in second spot is Little Surprise but
ROSE WATER
coming clear.
ROSE WATER
by two lengths from Little Surprise in second spot, followed by Rubinsky next Cunning Kitty to the extreme outside of the track, Ready To Drink was next with Mars Rover they will follow them by Miss Riot Rose, getting him at midfield, and then further back then too Blue Dane after race #5.
Gavin Carmody Sky Commentator
:
“Yeah the favourite too good.
ROSE WATER
had the lovely drop on the two speedsters and then she offered to take the split between them when Miss Karis went a little wider on the course. She's come clear to win it well.”
“By
CALYX
out of the Group One winning mare
AQUA D’AMORE,
and Ash Morgan for Jason Deamer, doing everything spot-on on debut, and goes on to win over Little Surprise who runs second Rubinsky's runs a nice race that filly, she's run 3rd, and Cunning Kitty winds up in fourth.”
Mick Wallace Sky Commentator:
“A good professional effort start number one,
ROSE WATER
, the big team of owners would be very pleased with that. She was able to position up just behind the leaders, that gap presented at the right time, and she's accelerated. A Little Surprise gave plenty of cheek.”
Gavin Carmody chimed in:
“OK, so $2.50 and $1.40 the winner; Little Surprise $2.10; Rubinsky has paid $2.80.
“We will catch up with winning trainer Jason Deamer. 1:02.84 overall time, 33.61 the last 600 metres Jason’s with us. She certainly done everything spot on Jase!”
Jason Deamer answered:
“Yeah, she's very good Gavin. Yeah, jumped away clean, good speed. Ash just let her go and she cruised up behind them, and he nursed her down the hill and that gives you a chance to balance-up and she found the line nicely.”
Gavin added-in:
“She trialled well, but it's hard to know what they're going to do, whether that trial forms going to translate. This is a tricky track, as you know.”
Jason agreed:
“It sure is. Yeah. They either come down the hill, or they don’t. It looked like Ash just gave her a little bit of a push to come down the hill and once she balanced up, she was she was very good. Yeah, and obviously it’s good to get another winner for
Dynamic Syndications.”
Gavin Carmody concluded:
“Good on you mate. Well done. There is Jason Deamer. Ash Morgan jumps off this filly. One and a half lengths she's won by in the end, two lengths between second and third. 1 1/2 by 2, in 1:02.84. So, she was backed in with a fixed odds into about $2.15 late in proceedings and she's paid $2.50 on the tote. That last 600 metres, 33.61 the numbers confirm 12-6-13 and 3.
Gavin Carmody then spoke with our jockey Ash Morgan:
“Ash Morgan is about to join us. Nicely bred filly Ash. She seems to have done everything pretty well spot on debut.”
Ash answered:
“Yeah, she was good. I can’t say I’ve had too much to do with her in all honesty with you. She jumped relatively well enough, and I was just going to sit outside the leader but two went forward, and I got a nice cart into the race, so presented at the top of the straight, and just kept both hands on the reins up the straight.”
Gavin commented:
“Yeah, Jason said you sort of helped it to come down the hill. It's a tricky here.”
Ash confirmed:
“Yeah it is, especially for these first starters. She had trials and Jason said she goes really well but coming here is a shock to the system for them, and I gave it one flick to just to let her go about doing her job. But then the main thing was keep her balanced, and not let her throw the race away, it was just greenness. Look, she’s won first-up. Good effort and hopefully she can go on.”
Gavin concluded:
“Great job. With the well backed favourite winning. Thank you. Yeah good performance wasn't it. Nicely bred filly by
CALYX out of AQUA D’AMORE
and Ash Morgan piloting her to a very nicely to win on debut.”
Jason Deamer then captured Ash Morgan for a video report to the Owners:
“Yeah, good debut. On a tricky track for a first start too. And she jumped pretty well and put us up there in a nice spot. Happy to take the cover. She just travelled a bit kinder through that middle stage then, and really come up underneath me on straightening, and the main thing was just keeping her balanced up the straight. She was always going to be far too good for them on straightening. It was just about just keeping her focused and keeping her balanced and she did well. She will improve for it, but it was good place to knock off her first win. Thank you.”
Team Dynamic
offer our congratulations to the
ROSE WATER Owners
on the debut victory with
ROSE WATER
at Quirindi. It was really good, dominant display from her. It was an excellent performance and she's run the time too,
1:02.84.
She went significantly quicker than the colts, geldings and entires maiden plate over 1100m there on the day, and she was only .04 off what the Benchmark 58 horses ran over the 1100m, so that's a really good gallop from a three-year-old filly on debut. She still did plenty wrong and she'll come on greatly from this effort.
She's become the
tenth
individual winner
from
11 foals
to race
from Group 1 winning mare
AQUA D’AMORE.
Incredibly she is one of Aqua d’Amore 10 winning foals where most are milers to 2400m horses. So again, that's a big effort to smash a class record at 1100m. We remain positive that
ROSE WATER
is going to appreciate getting out to a mile. When you have a look at her pedigree page, Aqua d’Amore won from 1200m out to 2400 metres, but she was best at a mile to 1800m. Her More Than Ready filly which
Dynamic Syndications
raced D’Amore d’Merrier won at 1800m. There's a No Nay Never named Yes Yeah Always that won at 2000m, Parry Sound is the stakes winning Pierro gelding had five wins 1800m to 2400m. Aqua D’Ivina the stakes performed Pierro filly won 5 races from 1350m to 1800m. Northern Legend won 5 races from 1200m to 1600m. It really is a miler plus family. So, that's been a really good effort from her to win at 1100m.
She also smashed the class record in winning on debut. A class record which has stood since 2008. So, it's been a seriously impressive gallop. It was terrific, and our Team at Dynamic are delighted for the Ownership Team.
We just can't thank our owners enough for supporting us, and in particular, supporting our terrific trainer, Jason Deamer. Our ownership group allow us to give Jason these opportunities and he does such a good job for us.
He's such an underrated trainer with a small, hands-on boutique stable, of just 11 boxes. He just needs quality, and we buy that for him and get us the results.
That's now four yearlings we bought for Jason that he's been able to take to the races and either win for us on debut or at their second start and those others have go on and won multiple races.
We are thankful to our owners who have supported us in supporting Jason. It's nice to have a
ROSE WATER
with him.
Jason Deamer drove the 3 hours up to Quirindi from Newcastle with two Dynamic Syndications Horses in the truck and came home with two winners for us, Awesome Tycoon would also prove successful on the day.
Never afraid of hard work, Jason rides them trackwork, was the float driver and was the strapper, so you can’t get anymore hands-on that that.
We are thrilled for our Dynamic Owners and Dynamic trainer Jason Deamer.
We believe
ROSE WATER
is significantly better than Quirindi class, but it is about laying foundations and ticking boxes, doing all the one percenter’s especially with well-bred fillies to maximise their residual value. She has ticked the first box by winning over a short course on debut. This looked a nice race on paper for her to kick off and ended up being very easy and sweet to watch. It’s rewarding to place her to advantage to help her break her maiden.
ROSE WATER
would prove to be
our second winner from two runners on the day
for our
DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS / JASON DEAMER / ASH MORGAN Combination.
