Rosie’s Alibi (2f Justify x Essential Rose, by Bernardini) became Justify’s fifteenth (15th) and latest individual winner on Saturday when producing a
5¼ length romp in a Maiden Special Weight victory in the USA at Parx, in the State of Philadelphia.

From only 42 Runners, JUSTIFY has sired 15 Winners (36%) of 18 races, 14 Placegetters scoring 20 placings and 6 Stakes Horses (14.3%) including 4 Stakes Winners, 1 Stakes Placegetter and 1 Stakes Performer. 29 of his 42 runners have run in the first 3 across the line (69%) and has earnings of over $1.7m AUD.
Appearing for her second career start,
Rosie’s Alibi pressured the leader throughout the 6½ furlong
(1300m) race and took over the lead as they turned into the straight. Her rider didn’t have to do much from there, as
Rosie’s Alibi romped home well in front of her peers.
Purchased from the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling Sale last year,
Rosie’s Alibi is part of trainer Todd Pletcher team.
Rosie’s Alibi is a half-sister to stakes winners Rose’s Vision and Roses for Debra with all four of their dam’s runners now winners. The filly’s granddam is the Group 2 winning Essential Edge, who also produced stakes performers as well. The filly’s fourth dam is the successful broodmare Flame of Tara, who herself produced seven stakes performers. Essential Rose had a filly by
American Pharoah this year.

JUSTIFY as a First Crop Sire simply can’t do anymore than he already has done to date. He has proven with his first crop he is something of an equine “freak”.
As a racehorse he was a superstar!
Unbeaten in 6 race starts – 4 at Gr1 level, including the time-honoured US Triple Crown.
What is remarkable is that he was unraced as a 2yo and won his races at middle distance trips. So, to get precocious and elite 2yo runners is a phenomenon no industry insider anticipated.
We can only wonder what the future holds for the incredible stallion.
