Dynamic Syndications were all smiles on Saturday afternoon as our beautifully bred 3YO filly SAGAPONACK produced another polished performance, surging to victory in the Feature: Graze @ Willow Tree Inn Willow Tree Cup Benchmark 50 Handicap (1000m) Race 5 at Tamworth.

The daughter of Champion Sire SNITZEL from THE HAMPTONS made light work of the Soft 6 conditions, stopping the clock in an eased down but slick 58.14 secs for the 1000m – confirming her talent and toughness with back-to-back wins from just four career starts. What is impressing our team is the fact we know she is not comfortable in the rain affected ground but class is carrying her through in these foundation races as she continues to learn her craft.

Expertly trained by Jason Deamer at Newcastle, and given a cool, confident steer by jockey Jake Pracey-Holmes, SAGAPONACK overcame a tricky draw (barrier 10 of 12) and carried 59.5kgs (equal top weight) to win in effortless style, cruising home 1.29 lengths clear of her nearest rival.
We were extremely confident of our filly's chances in this event and our ratings price had her at $1.60 favourite, so we were thrilled when she started favourite at $4.20 when the gates clanged back.

Pre-race parade

Jumping cleanly, Jake had SAGAPONACK in the mix early,

disputing the lead for the first 250m

before easing to find cover, tracking three-wide just behind the speed.

She travelled sweetly throughout, poised to pounce.

Swinging into the straight four-deep and widest,

she balanced up and lengthened stride,

quickly overhauling the leaders at the 200m

It was a classy and commanding performance from a filly who’s clearly on an upward trajectory.

This latest win follows her impressive maiden victory at Port Macquarie over 1006m on April 19, confirming that SAGAPONACK is not just a one-run wonder – she’s a serious racehorse in the making.

Port Macquarie Maiden Win 19/4
Importantly, both wins came with the added benefit of BOBS Bonuses, padding her earnings and delivering excellent returns for her tremendous Ownership Team:

We’ve had to be patient with SAGAPONACK in recent weeks as wet tracks played havoc across the region.
In fact, this meeting was originally set down for Quirindi, but due to unsuitable conditions, Racing NSW shifted the venue to Tamworth, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
With 2 wins and a placing and a fourth from only 4 career starts, this filly is doing everything right.
We also believe that SAGAPONACK will be much better on top of the ground, and out further in trip.
And as a well-bred daughter of SNITZEL from a stakes-winning mare from a deep black-type family, every win is adding residual value for her future as a broodmare when her racing days conclude.
SAGAPONACK’s success adds another notch to Dynamic Syndications tally of 46 race wins for the current 2024-25 season, with 8 weeks still to run until 31 July, whilst it was our 936th Race Win overall.
We couldn’t be prouder of our filly and our fantastic team behind the scenes.
She’s fit, flying, and full of promise – and we’re excited for what lies ahead.
Onwards and upwards with SAGAPONACK!
