Ultra-consistent 4yo mare
SIRILEO MISS has added a
valuable stakes victory to her pedigree and her future value as a broodmare with a strong win at Caulfield on Wednesday when claiming the
Group 3 Ladies’ Day Vase (1600m).
Sirileo Miss defeated Foxy Freda by 0.2 length with Harmony Rose 0.4 length third.
The Symon Wilde trained
Sirileo Miss (4m Pride of Dubai x She’s Sirus, by Galileo) made it
three wins in a row when securing her
first stakes victory in the
$200,000 Group 3 Ladies Day Vase (1600m) at Caulfield to become the
13th stakes-winner for Pride of Dubai.
Sirileo Miss took her race record to 9 starts: 5 wins, 2 Seconds, 1 Third and $347,150 in earnings.
Sent out a
$2.45 favourite, and ridden perfectly by
Linda Meech,
Sirileo Miss took the lead at the top of the straight and was courageous in fending off the challenge of Foxy Frida to win by a head whilst early leader Harmony Rose weakened to be a further head away back in third.
Sirileo Miss had won on debut at Ballarat in November. In her second preparation she was taken to Adelaide where she finished third in the
Group 3 Auraria Stakes at Morphettville then followed that with a 1.2 length fifth-place finish in the
Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m).
This preparation
Sirileo Miss has been kept to shorter trips of
1300m, 1400m and now 1600m and is
undefeated in her three starts back. This win was overdue for well-deserved Black type success.
“She’s a tough animal and toughed it out, they had a chance to beat her in the straight and couldn’t do it,” stable rep Ben Casanella said.
“We probably didn’t expect her to be outside of the leader, we thought Harmony Rose would probably take up the lead and slacken off and that happened.”
Jockey Linda Meech said she would be advising the stable to keep
Sirileo Miss at these shorter trips.
“I’d probably go a mile again with the way she was wanting to get on with it,” Meech said.
Sirileo Miss is a half-sister to stakes-placed
Sophia’s Choice and is one of
seven (7) winners from seven (7) to race from good producer
She’s Sirius, a half-sister by
Galileo to stakes-winner
Spectrolite and stakes placed
Shih Tzou.
She’s Sirius produced a colt last spring by
Merchant Navy and is booked to visit Coolmore newcomer King’s Legacy.
The tough stakes win by
Sirileo Miss was a
much-welcomed addition to the pedigree page of
Dynamic Syndications own
highly promising 3yo filly NOTIONS (Press Statement x She's Sirius) who is the
younger half-sister to Sirileo Miss.
Notions wins at Hawkesbury over 1600m
When we purchased our filly,
Sirleo Miss only had 3 starts for 2 wins and earnings of $117,150.
Since then, she has
won 3 additional races taking her total to 5 wins and increased her prizemoney by
$230,750 and taking her total prizemoney to
$347,900. Importantly, she has earned the
stakes placing in the Auraria Stakes and now a Gr3 Win in the Ladies Vase.
NOTIONS as a 2yo filly at the sales
Dynamic Syndications purchased NOTIONS as a raced 2yo who had just one start for a 6th of 8 at the Sunshine Coast.
Notions wins her maiden at Nowra
Notions has now had 5 starts, with
4 runs for her new Dynamic ownership team, for 2 wins and a second before finding the boys a bit physically stronger in the Gr3 Gloaming Stakes 1800m when behind
Head of State and Profondo with the runner-up then franking that form by
winning the Gr1 Spring Champion 2000m.
Notions was sent straight to the paddock after that Gloaming Stakes run before she’s due to be returning in a few weeks with the
Autumn Carnival her target, as we are convinced she can measure up to adding black type to her pedigree page next preparation on what she has shown us in her first preparation.
