Another stellar season for New Zealand’s super Sire SAVABEEL as the son of
Zabeel has proven his stallion
dominance when securing a
seventh (7th) consecutive Grosvenor Award as Champion New Zealand Sire.
Waikato Stud’s star resident also claimed his
sixth Centaine Award for worldwide progeny earnings and regained his
Dewar Award for combined Australian and New Zealand progeny earnings.
It is the
fifth time he has claimed the Dewar title after associate stallion Ocean Park broke his run when he won it in 2020.
MARK CHITTICK - Waikato Stud
Waikato Stud boss Mark Chittick said,“It’s certainly been another outstanding season for Savabeel and for him to be the leading stakes producer in Australasia is something we are very proud of,”
Savabeel sired 19 Stakes Winners during the 2020-21 season with four (4) at Group 1 level to take his career tally of individual Gr1 Winners to 23.
Savabeel’s leading representatives saw Probabeel, Amarelinha, Mo’unga and Concert Hall add to his Group 1 glory, joining Kawi, Lucia Valentina, Sangster, Soriano, Scarlett Lady, Savvy Coup, Shillelagh, Costume, Diademe, Sword Of Osman, Nicoletta, Brambles, Savaria, Pasadena Girl, Hall of Fame, Hasahalo, Cool Aza Beel, Sound Proposition and Embellish.
In total, he has now produced
115 Stakes Winners, at a runners to winners ratio of a remarkable
11 per cent with an overall winning strike rate of
72 per cent.
SAVABEEL after his COX PLATE Win
There is not one stallion in the Southern Hemisphere that can statistically match SAVABEEL or is going better than him.
Mark Chittick commented “He’s now also emerging as a broodmare sire, which was always going to be a no brainer as he’s by Zabeel out of a Success Express mare – two sensational broodmare sires,”.
Savabeel’s daughters have this season produced the Gr1 Goodwood H. winner Savatoxl, the Gr2 Waikato Guineas winner Tokorangi, the G3 Gold Trail S. Winner Force Of Will and the Hong Kong star and Gr3 Sha Tin Vase winner Courier Wonder.
Savabeel has now produced earnings of $129,460,877
1050 Runners; 758 Winners, 115 Stakes Winners, 23 Gr1 Winners & 78 Stakes Placegetters.
