Whilst many out there would be cursing the unusually short amount of sunshine that we see today, Dynamic knows this is the time to start preparing.
Today is the shortest day of the year, the winter solstice, and as some rug up and sit by the heater all day, it is all work for Dynamic as this day tells us that Spring is only round the corner.
Although not this cold, the Winter Solstice means Spring is just around the corner
Although we only receive about 9 hours and 53 minutes of natural light today, this is the time when the Dynamic trainers start gearing up for one of the busiest times of the year, the Spring Carnival.
The Spring Carnival is always a big time of year in racing for Dynamic as it is when our elite group of trainers are preparing a number of our horses for an assault on some of the world’s best racing.
Dual Group One winner, Atomic Force is a perfect example of a horse who, all things going to plan, should be ready for the big races come Spring time.
Atomic force will be gearing up for a big Spring
Darren Smith has now had this Gr1 winner in both Australia and New Zealand back in his stable for a few weeks to make sure he is right come the spring.
Other young potential track stars such as Specific Choice and Secret Delight will also be looking at races throughout the spring later in the year if all things fall into place.
Secret Delight can handle wet or dry conditions
Rather than look at this day as a negative as it doesn’t have many hours of light, we view it as a positive from here and look at it saying it can only get warmer with longer days from this point onwards.
Our elite group of trainers such as Peter Moody, Chris Waller, David Payne, Mick Price as well as all the others know all too well that a good Spring can make a year and that is what we will be aiming for.
Dean and Dynamic’s resume of racing success features a number of big Spring carnival races including most notably, the Cox Plate!
We are hoping to add Dean’s already impressive resume over this Spring Campaign and the ones following on from it.
Keep a close eye out for all Dynamic runners as we approach Spring and keep an eye on the website and more specifically Dynamic TV for news and information on what our plans are.
