Since the 2012 Keeneland September Yearling Sale in Kentucky, the breeding industry has experienced a resurgence with almost every significant horse sale in the Northern Hemisphere following suit. Among the sales to produce incredible strong figures include Doncaster's St Leger sales, the Tattersalls Irish sale, Goffs historical Orby sale, both Tattersalls Books 1 & 2, and now the Tattersalls Horses In Training Sale. All of these sales smashed previous records and showed that the industry is still thriving.
This trend is almost always a precursor to a similar upswing in the Southern Hemisphere and since these results, many Australian and New Zealand breeders have been rubbing their hands together in anticipation for the upcoming sales.
The interest in racing is continuing to grow with the emergence of horses including superstar English colt, Frankel as well as our own home grown wonder mare Black Caviar here in Australia. Along with an increase in prizemoney, better racing promotion and upgrades to facilities across Australia with NSW at the forefront, we are seeing new fans and enthusiasts that may have never been interested in racing before but are looking to invest for the first time.
Black Caviar has helped with a resurgence in Australia racing and breeding
We have even seen a rise in people wishing to learn more about racing with many leading racing news websites experiencing a growth in visitors over the last 12 months. As well as the racing news, breeding sites such as breednet.com and breedingracing.com have experienced vast growth which shows the new quest for knowledge that racing fans are looking for. Traffic to the Dynamic website has also continued to grow over the last 12 months especially since the introduction of our new website which has brought hundreds of new viewers online.
Before the yearling sales of 2013 start, NZ Bloodstock will host the Karaka Ready to Run sale in which Dynamic will be looking to add to our 2012 class. The sale is set to commence on the 20th of November and will be held over two days. In five out of the last six years, horses which have been graduates from Karaka sales have gone on to win the Cox Plate including 4 time Gr1 winner and current Cox Plate holder, Ocean Park. Dynamic Syndications will be doing their best to try and find Karaka’s next Gr1 champion and add to our already impressive resume.
The New Zealand Bloodstock sales at Karaka are set to take place in November
This is also the time of year when many breeder, syndicators, owners and trainers start to think about the upcoming yearling sales. The first Australian based yearling sales for this season are held at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sales in January. These sales have proved to be very popular and successful in the past and the Magic Millions have recorded positive numbers throughout this year in all sales. The Magic Millions sale will commence on the 9th of January playing host to 6 individual sessions before concluding on the 15th of January
The sales action then heads down to Sydney where Inglis takes centre stage as they host the Classic Yearling Sale Summer book. This revamped format will feature two sessions during Summer on the 20th and 21st of January before a second winter book will be produced with a final session to commence on the 23rd of June. This sale always proves to be a popular breeding ground of successful racehorses and breaking it into two separate books should see the positive sale results continue.
We are excited for what is set to be one of the healthiest sale seasons in recent time and here at Dynamic we will still have the philosophy to purchase quality racehorses at affordable prices. We have shown in the past that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to get a superstar and the one thing that we guarantee is to perform our due diligence to ensure that you get the best possible value for money and chance to succeed on the racetrack.
