The Altomonte family’s
Corumbene Stud had their renowned orange and brown spot silks arrive into the winner’s circle at Randwick on Wednesday, carried by their
debutant TASHI.
Trained by the Snowden’s, the
two-year-old Sebring filly was well fancied off a couple of encouraging trials and produced a good finish for Sam Clipperton to run home strongly from back in the ruck to claim an
impressive win.
TASHI too strong on debut
Tashi held out the fast finishing Chris Waller trained fillies Cabaca and Super Chilled.
Paul Snowden said
“She was well held in a couple of trials, but we always thought she had more to offer and she was a little bit too good for them today.”
Tashi is the second foal and the first winner for the Shadwell Stud bred Street Cry (IRE) broodmare
GHENWAA which was bought by Corumbene Stud for
$300,000 at the 2018 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale.
GHENWAA is a winning half-sister to stakes-winners
Taraayef and
Haybah from the family of dual Derby winner and sire
Rebel Raider.
Corumbene Stud sold a yearling filly by More Than Ready (USA) from Ghenwaa at Magic Millions this year for $130,000 + GST to Dynamic Syndications/Dean Watt Bloodstock.
OUR Yearling Filly - More Than Ready x Ghenwaa after purchase
Our Filly in the spelling paddock at Gooree Park
This is a
timely update to the pedigree page of our filly, who has broken-in sensationally and we have big dreams for our youngster.
Our filly is bred on the successful
MORE THAN READY x STREET CRY Cross that has produced
3 stakes winners to date:
MISS ADMIRATION G3; SESAR G2; MOKARRIS.
Our filly is
sold out and was placed in the stables of
Jason Deamer at Newcastle.
We will be keeping an eye out for
TASHI in the hope she can keep adding to an
already highly commercial pedigree page.
