As we advised our Dynamic owners and followers before heading to Newmarket England for the historical TATTERSALLS HORSES-IN-TRAINING Sale, “if we can’t beat them – we’re going to join them.”

After years of sales where sellers where
the winners, with the exception of a few hot spots during the
mid-afternoon session of the sale, the tables turned a little into the
buyers favour and Team Dynamic were the beneficiaries of the swing, as we
claimed three (3) magnificent 3yo geldings to bring home to compete for
the lucrative prizemoney available in middle distance events in
Australia.

We had 9 lots identified on Day 1 and were delighted to have purchased 3 of them. We were also the direct under bidder on another 3 lots and we were blown away on remaining final 3 lots.
However with so many quality horses to choose from and a difficult level to buy at based upon our poor exchange rate, we were not prepared to pay overs to bring horses home.
Criteria for selection were
Any horse purchased must have raced within 6 weeks of the saleday to enable us to assess soundness issues
They must have a Timeform Rating displaying they are of genuine city class.
They must be able to display they are true milers in England, capable of getting out to 2000m. We avoided the 2400m or further style horses as they are too slow / too dower in Australian conditions.
They must have impeccable conformation for our unforgiving racing conditions and environment.
Then they must pass a detailed veterinary inspection by Dr Tim Roberts who we had join us on this trip to ensure he could identify and eliminate all potential risks.
This included full flexion trot-ups plus heart and eye evaluations and a pre-sale endoscope to ensure that the horses we identified were both sound of wind and limb. Then post sale blood testing to ensure the horses were free of steroids.
It is to be noted that it is a set price quoted by IRT (International Racehorse Transport) of 15,200 GBP which equateds to $30,177 AUD to fly home
Plus GST must be paid on the price of each horse landed in Australia
Proudly we purchased: Lot 270 RECONDITE / Lot 337 GREEK HERO / Lot 341 INVASION DAY
Lot 270 RECONDITE (Maiden)
Purchase Price 45,000 Guineas ($94,302 AUD)
Timeform Rating 86 as a Maiden = Genuine City Class
6 sts: 0-2-0-2
Finished Second by 0.2 lengths at each of his past 2 starts most recent on the 3rd October
The perfect horse to bring home as a Maiden because he should have won both his last starts but the benefit to us was, he missed out in close finishes and this allows our Dynamic Owners the opportunity to reap the rewards of winning easy races and have him paid for before stepping up in class.
Offered for sale by powerhouse Juddemont Farm who produce their horses at the sale with accompanying full disclosures of veterinary history.
RECONDITE is a lightly raced horse that is going to promise a lot of fun to Dynamic Owners.
Below is his past 2 starts. He races in light grey colours

“ZORBA” caught our eye early when watching his replays and he was a simply beautiful 3yo chestnut gelding when we inspected him with all the right attributes to make his mark in Australia.
The lightly raced gelding has displayed excellent turn of foot and an genuine desire to put his peers away and then prick his ears after rattling off fast closing sectionals.
A 60,000 Euro yearling purchase, by a stallion with proven middle-distance credentials in Australia, he was fantastic buying and a perfect candidate for us.

17 sts: 2-4-2-3

Been placed over 2000m
This is an exciting prospect for Australia. He is versatile at all distances and all surfaces and has a fantastic turn of foot which will simply outsprint his peers at home.
He has already displayed he has stakes class ability when running 3rd at Leopardstown (Ireland).
He has the class factor as a type we identified and was sound of both wind and limb.
A 90,000 Euro yearling purchase, by a stallion with proven middle-distance credentials, he was brilliant buying.
He has a pedigree known to perform in Australia. He is closely related to Gai’s Melbourne Cup hero FIORENTE and the VRC Hotham Stakes Gr3 Winner RUSCELLO.

Whilst we have purchased our “quota” as we are already here in the UK and done our due diligence work on candidates for Day 2, if opportunities present themselves, we may add further purchases to these 3 exceptional lots already secured.
Shares in each of our UK Stayers will be available as soon as we have the opportunity to submit the documentation to Racing NSW for approval.
In the interim, Adam has been fielding inquiry calls and taking notes from interested owners keen to take shares and he is creating a list to offer these owners first choice before we announce the horses to the open market.
