The Entertainer (2c by Caravaggio x Cape Joy, by Cape Cross) lived up to his name
on debut with a
fast finishing run at Navan on Saturday 15/05/2021, to give
his freshman sire a fifth (5th) Individual winner.
There were
three (3) Caravaggio’s facing the starter and they took
first, fourth and fifth positions in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Navan, as Ballydoyle’s The Entertainer led them home under
Seamie Heffernan.
Racing over 5 ½ furlongs (1100m) on the good going,
The Entertainer broke well and sat fifth, just behind the leaders. Jockey Seamie Heffernan on the 9/4 joint favourite started searching for a gap for his mount as they reached the final furlong with the struggle getting more desperate the closer they got to the line.
That soon changed as one of the leaders started to fade and left room for
The Entertainer, who needed no other encouragement to take off after the front runner.
In only a matter of strides,
The Entertainer was past the only horse in front of him and had his ears pricked as his speed took him to an
easy 1½ length victory with the third-place runner five lengths behind him.
Trained by Aidan O’Brien, Heffernan noted after the race that
The Entertainer may be another Royal Ascot contender for Caravaggio.
“It was tight at the business end but when he got the gap, his class kicked in, with his speed,” Heffernan told Irishracing.com.
“Hopefully he'll progress and be on the plane to Ascot. He's got plenty of pace and hopefully he'll stay. Caravaggio is a top-class stallion; I'm liking his progeny.”
Sold for €100,000 as a foal at the Goffs Ireland November Foal Sale,
The Entertainer was then a
110,000 gns purchase by Avenue Bloodstock for M V Magnier during Book 2 of last year’s Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
The Entertainer is one of two winners from three to race out of the winning Cape Cross mare Cape Joy. That mare is a half-sister to stakes winner Hymn Of Love. From Perils of Joy, a half-sister to Group 3 winner Sweetened Offer, and grand-dam of Irish champion Invincible Ash.
A sire now with multiple runners headed to Royal Ascot next month, Caravaggio currently leads all Northern Hemisphere freshmen sires with five winners.
Donnacha O’Brien’s Caravaggio, Don Julio, stayed on for fourth, depriving his stable companion also by
Caravaggio named
Geodesic, of that position.
Jockey G.M. Ryan, rider of
Geodesic trained by Donnacha O'Brien, the
9/4 equal favourite reported that his mount ran short of room inside the final furlong. The Stewards inquired into the incident involving Geodesic. Ryan stated that he had been running on well before receiving pressure on his inside and got squeezed.
So, it was unlucky for connections of Geodesic that they didn’t finish in the placings but the winner was never in doubt.
Dynamic Syndications has just 10% remaining in our own superb CARAVAGGIO Colt from Malibu Road (by Malibu Moon).
Our colt has broken-in and is producing a lot of excitement and will be aimed for the early 2yo races including the
Magic Millions.
Check him out on our website – he’s a must if you want to race a real 2yo prospect.
It’s a fabulous start for the blistering quick racehorse nick named the Ballydoyle Bullet.
He only covered the one crop in Australia and those are current yearlings.
The way he has hit the ground running with his youngsters in England, Ireland and France suggests he should be able to repeat the process here in Australia.
From his one Australian crop, CARAVAGGIO had 47 yearlings sell across all Australian sales this year for an average $88,159 including 13 yearlings that sold at Magic Millions at an average $105,769.
Dynamic Syndications are delighted with the CARAVAGGIO colt we purchased at the Magic Millions.
Purchased with the specific aim of the
Magic Millions 2yo race in mind, he has been
broken-in by SHANE ROSE who was in raptures about our colt’s natural ability.
Bred on a super cross for the sire, our Colt is from MALIBU ROAD (by Malibu Moon).

Dynamic Syndications believe the deeds on the racetrack that Caravaggio produced during his own brilliant race career and being the fastest son of a world class sire in Scat Daddy, has the right profile to be very effective in Australia.
We researched all the pedigrees of the mares that produced foals in Australia and settled upon
one that ticked all our boxes with size, conformation, veterinary
acceptance, genetic balance and boasted a highly commercial pedigree
page.

IN REVIEW:
The colt we purchased has ticked all the boxes to give him the maximum opportunity of racetrack success in Australia.
The Sire can’t do any more – a brilliant type himself with speed to burn and a super race record.
His progeny have hit the ground running – just like he did!
His Dam has produced 100% winners to runners including INDEPENDENT ROAD – a dual stakes performer and winner of his last two in a row in Melbourne.
But Wait ….. There’s More!
Whilst you may have heard that line before, this colt HAS broken-in sensationally.
Our horse educator SHANE ROSE proprietor of Bimbadeen Park and Australian Equestrian Olympic Team member was full of praise about how the colt broke in and moves.

It’s near impossible for any stallion to have a better strike rate on a cross than what this cross is producing.
