TOO DARN HOT (GB) First Crop Sire - Champion 2yo & 3yo

Our Magic Millions Yearling Colt is by Darley Stud’s exciting First Crop Sire TOO DARN HOT (GB) (Dubawi) who was Champion 2yo and Champion 3yo in Europe and the sire is stamping his stock here in Australia. We purchased two (2) yearlings, a colt, and a filly by TOO DARN HOT this year and on what they have shown us to date we are delighted to have backed the debutant sire.

Last week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday our team were at Gooree Park, Mudgee to see trackwork over these 3 mornings and specifically to watch several of our babies going through early training.

The wonderful facilities of Gooree Park and the skillset of trainer Mack Griffith who is our pre-trainer, gives our babies a wonderful foundation and a huge head start to their racing careers.

After our yearlings have been broken-in and educated by Australia’s best horseman Shane Rose at Bimbadeen Park,

they are sent to Mack Griffith at Gooree to take our yearlings through their early training routines.

During this process, we can occasionally receive an early indication if they are natural 2yo types or will be better as late 2yo’s or as a 3yo.

Cop the tip – we have a colt who is an absolute belter on type, moves effortlessly, and is very intelligent. His length of stride is exceptional, and he has had the better of his workmates so far.

It wasn’t a surprise to us, rather it vindicates what we believed in him when we purchased him as the First Yearling by the Sire to be SOLD in the Southern Hemisphere.

He wasn’t cheap, but horses don’t know how much you pay for them. It’s that intrinsic desire of class and ability that we all search for but nobody knows if they have purchased until they are tested under saddle.

Our COLT is from the mare LA LA LUCHIE (Medaglia d’Oro).

The Dam is a ½ Sister to Gr1 Winning 2yo GO INDY GO and directly descends from the female family of Champion 2yo & 3yo HA HA and is the family of 2yo speed influence and Golden Slipper winner RORY’S JESTER.

He is eligible for the MAGIC MILLIONS plus he is also rare being eligible for Both – BOBS and VOBIS.

This is the COLT that as soon as we had him knocked down to us, MICK PRICE who was the underbidder asked could he buy half from us and be the colt’s trainer to which we immediately replied – YES. Therefore, MICK PRICE and MICK KENT Jnr are his trainers at Cranbourne.

The COLT was FULLY RESERVED, but a 1 x 5% SHARE has been re-offered as a purchaser didn’t settle so that sale was cancelled.

5% is $16,250 and on what we have been shown to date its incredible value.
