Bang! Young Gun Trainer JACK BRUCE (NZ) only put up his shingle up on the door on the
21st May 22, saying he was a
racehorse trainer. Chasing his dream, he has hit the ground running, producing an
incredible run of success.
Dynamic Trainer Jack Bruce
On Thursday at 8 September at the Sunshine Coast’s All Weather Polytrack Surface,
Jack Bruce presented our Dynamic mare TOO MUCH CLASS (5yo m Smart Missile x Skyline Blush) into the parade ring looking a glamour, and then legged-up
jet pilot Ben Thompson aboard the
$2.40 favourite, as he watched his
Dynamic Duo head out onto the track to compete in
Race 5 - the feature Race on the programme, the $50,000 TAB Class 5 Hcp over 1600m.
Amazing prizemoney for a Thursday afternoon synthetic track surface event, just a few minutes later, Jack was on hand to welcome back to scale
TOO MUCH CLASS and Ben Thompson as our mighty mare was led into the Winner’s Circle, after she had demolished her opposition to pick up the
$27,500 winners’ cheque.
TOO MUCH CLASS recording 5th Win
TOO MUCH CLASS had just recorded Jack Bruce’s 10th Winner as a Trainer from just 31 Starters (32.3% W:R) with 7 Seconds and 3 thirds.
That’s 20 of Jack’s 31 Starters have finished in the placings (64.5%).
In just over 15 weeks, Jack Bruce has announced he will be a serious trainer of the future with his meteoric rise.
It’s no surprise to those who know
Jack, that he has achieved such a terrific start.
After all, he is a well-educated, well-spoken young man, passionate about his trade, with the skill set and a responsible attitude to match. Jack is trailblazing his way into our sport.
He has learnt his craft under savvy mentors such as Chris Waller, Bjorn Baker and most recently Ciaron Maher & David Eustace, before taking on a leap of faith and backing his judgement and ability, to become a trainer in his own right.
The switched-on horseman chose to head to Brisbane to commence his journey where the
opportunities were more bountiful, and he set roots at the training facilities at
Deagon.
Working in closely with Adam Watt from Dynamic Syndications in mapping out the right races for TOO MUCH CLASS, our mare has had
three (3) starts for Jack.
She was 4th at her first run at the Sunshine Coast over a mile on 7 August, then she stepped up to 1700m at the Gold Coast with an easy win in Benchmark 62 grade, and that’s when the decision was made to set our mare for the $50,000 Class 5 on the Polytrack on Thursday.
It's very rewarding to all involved when a plan comes to fruition.
TOO MUCH CLASS lived right up to her moniker when claiming victory by an eased down but widening 3 lengths over Terrius (54.5kgs) ($6) with a further 2.5 lengths back to Better Ethics (55.0kgs) ($13) in third spot whilst the balance of the 10-horse field finished in intervals spanning out over 15.4 lengths. TOO MUCH CLASS stopped the clock in 1:35.88 secs coming home he last 600m in 35.10 secs.
TOO MUCH CLASS with this victory took her resume to:
19 starts: 5 wins: 2 seconds: 2 thirds: 4 fourths and Prizemoney: $111,950
Taking on a more than handy field as is expected for a race of such a rich winner’s cheque,
TOO MUCH CLASS had
never raced on a synthetic surface before. So despite believing our mare would handle it, we never truly know until they have raced upon it whether they will or not. However, we knew our mare had excelled in trackwork since her dominant last start win and coming back in trip 100m to a mile on a synthetic surface we believed was going to be in her favour.
Also, we were slightly concerned that
being a back marker on a synthetic surface was a distinct disadvantage as there is an obvious bias for leaders on these surfaces.
This was offset when
Adam was able to engage Ben Thompson for the ride, because we had ticked another box, having access to a rider who rides the surface so well.
However, its only when you either watched the race live, or see the replay, can the racing enthusiast understand the enormity of the challenge this was for trainer, horse and rider, to come from well back in the ruck spotting the leaders 6 lengths at the 600m marker. Then to see the ease in which she gathered in her peers after Ben extracts her from behind the leaders at the 400m and once balanced, she unleashed an incredible sprint over the last 300m. This surge of power gave Ben an armchair stroll to the winning post.
BEN THOMPSON & TOO MUCH CLASS return to the Winners Stall
Upon returning to scale, our Jet Pilot Ben Thompson reported to Jack Bruce and our owners:
Dynamic Jockey BEN THOMPSON "Winners are Grinners"
“She jumped away great, a few pushed up that I didn’t expect, I was following good chances on the rail.
“There’s no doubt she’s taken a lot of confidence from the Gold Coast (win) because at the half-mile, I just put my heel on her to let her know I was there and just feel me, and she just picked up the bridle and from then on, I just had to hold-on!
“It felt like even if I had to wait another 100m, I’d be surprised if anything comes from behind me to beat me because the leader still had it pretty nice, but she was just too good!
“She gave me a good feel and just placed perfectly in a Class 5, the right one, down in the weights, that was a good move and plenty of wins in store. Good Stuff!”
This was an amazing feat, and what really pleases Team Dynamic is that we have a Terrific Team of loyal Dynamic Syndications Owners that race the mare with us.
Congratulations goes to: Dynamic Syndications Racing, Mr S B Troughton, Mrs K Tew, Mr G Tew, Mr C A Reid, Ms L M Beaumont, Mr D A Simpson, Mr S P Loane, The Yoh Club, Mr NR Evans, Mr M Safranko, Mr D I Hollyman, Mr P S Chiu, Mrs M Bennett, Mr M Moullakis, Mr A Pino, Grape Boys Racing, Menzalunki Racing, Mr L Seminara

Too Much Class - Winner 8.9.22 from Dynamic Syndications on Vimeo.
We thank our Owners who backed our judgement when we paid $55,000 for her as a tried horse from Gooree Park Dispersal Sale at the Magic Millions.
At that point of her career, she had just one race start for then trainer Mark Newnham, for a disappointing 11th of 11 beaten 9.2 lengths.
Since purchasing the mare, her owners now have 5 photos on the wall and $111,950 in the bank and still own their mare who promises much more fun is to be had before the broodmare barn calls her into retirement whenever that may be.
This was Dynamic Syndications 5th Race Winner for the new season and our 775th Race Win overall.
Onwards and Upwards!
