Monday’s Day 2 session proved to be a
momentous day for Dynamic Syndications at the Inglis 2020 Melbourne Premier Sale at Oaklands Junction in a couple of ways.
Part 1: Firstly, we purchased an absolutely brilliant filly boasting magnificent conformation and a sensational pedigree.
Lot 299 I AM INVINCIBLE x MEFNOODA (by Medaglia d’Oro) for $210,000 + GST
A daughter of the sire sensation I AM INVINCIBLE - Australia’s current leading Sire and a Champion Sire, he was Australia’s most expensive sire in the 2019 Breeding Season when standing at a Service Fee of $247,500.
He is the sire of over 480 Winners, 51 Stakes Winners and earnings of $80 million.
Our Filly is from MEFNOODA - a city class winner of 5 races from 10 starts from 1200m to 1440m.
MEFNOODA is by Champion Sire Medaglia d’Oro from Gr3 Winner ONE WORLD (by Danehill) - Winner of the VRC Thoroughbred Breeders S., Gr3 and Listed SAJC Fulham Park P., and she was 3d VRC Blue Diamond Preview Gr3.
ONE WORLD is a full sister to LANGOUSTINE and to the Dam of SATONO ARES (by Deep Impact) Gr1 Winning Champion 2YO Colt in Japan.
MEFNOODA is a half-sister to

Our brilliantly bred filly with conformation to match was rated by our veterinarian Dr. Tim Roberts as one of the top fillies at the sale on athleticism and type and she had clean x-rays and a Grade 1 endoscopic evaluation.

Grazed and raised on the magnificent pastures of leading thoroughbred nursery
Segenhoe Stud at Scone, this filly carriers the brand
DXB (the code for Dubai Airport) on her near shoulder which belongs to her breeder
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, regarded as one of the leading and most successful racing and breeding identities in racing around the globe.
We are truly thrilled to have purchased this filly, never believing we had a chance on price however
we did our due diligence on vetting including x-rays and scope, so we crossed our fingers in hope.
We knew the filly had a
$160,000 reserve and that was very generous of the breeder, as the filly should make far more than that.
The question was how much more? We believed she would be
great buying at $250,000 but valued her at $300,000 plus. Both those figures were well above our own self-imposed limit of
$200,000.
As the bidding progressed
Adam Watt from Team Dynamic made sure he positioned his bidding to be on the bid at
$160,000. That bid was countered and then countered again as the auctioneer jumped the next two bids in $20,000 increments. The first was to
$180,000.
We had a pre-determined tactic that many buyers have
psychological barriers
at even thresholds e.g. $50,000, $100,000, $150,000, $200,000 etc. So,
our plan was whenever that happens, try to be the next bid above a
threshold as that drops off many buyers. So,
Adam waited slowing down the bidding war when another bid came in at $200,000.
The auctioneer then called for $10,000 increments so
Adam came straight back at $210,000.
Despite the best endeavours of the auctioneer to get another bid, none was forthcoming,
the gavel fell to our bid of $210,000.
This became our most expensive yearling ever purchased for syndication
however was unbelievable value as far as we were concerned, which we can
now pass onto our owners.

Part 2: Secondly,
we have been extremely honoured when shortly after the purchase Adam was approached by Tim Stakemire representing His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum requesting His Excellency would like to buy-back into this filly he had bred.
We are advised that this is the first time His Excellency has chosen to race in partnership with any syndicator anywhere around the world.
We have been advised that His Excellency did so based upon our reputation for integrity and respect within the industry, along with our unrivalled racetrack success.
As could be expected, here at Dynamic Syndications we have been truly honoured by His Excellency and we are extremely proud of our hard-earned profile, so to capture his attention and be considered commendable by His Excellency and his team of advisors, for them to join us to race in partnership, is the ultimate accolade.
Leading industry identity Peter O’Brien from Segenhoe Stud reiterated the honour bestowed upon Dynamic Syndications in an interview recorded later in the day about the filly which can be seen below:
