Team Dynamic Delighted with Achieved Results in 23-24 Season

Dynamic Syndications are delighted with the results we achieved for our Ownership Teams throughout the 2023-24 Racing Season which concluded on Wednesday 31 July.

Together Our Owners and Team Dynamic achieved 62 Race Wins with horses purchased by Dynamic Syndications / Dean Watt Bloodstock.

This result of 62 Season Wins was our third highest yearly total over the past 19 seasons.

Our 2020-21 Season remains our most bountiful when we recorded 72 Victories, followed by 2009-10 Season where we achieved 68 Wins.

Our 62 Race Wins for the 2023-24 Season advances our “Aggregate Tally” from 828 Wins as at 31 July 23, up to 890 visits to the Winner’s Circle as at 31 July 2024.

It only seems like yesterday that the fun began, when our first starter under the Dynamic Syndications banner named Up ‘N’Doing - Won on debut at Rosehill on the 22nd October 2005.

Against our relatively limited number of horses we have on our books, Team Dynamic keeps data on our own Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

These self-imposed markers determine our own measurements of success, ensuring we always continue striving for the best possible results for all our owners.

Specifically, each season our First KPI Target is to achieve 50 Wins during the year. We broke that by 12 wins in 2023-24.

Our Second Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Target is the one we harbour most, 52 Victories. We broke that by 10 wins.

Whilst on paper the difference between KPI Number 1 and KPI Number 2 may statistically appear to be just two (2) more racetrack victories, it is really important to Dynamic Syndications, as it allows us to Average out to a Winner-A-Week.

It’s a vital statistic for us.

That’s because since the 1st August 2009 until the 31st July 2024, which covers fifteen (15) “consecutive” Racing Seasons, our Dynamic Syndications horses have now a Won a total of 787 Races.

Therefore divide 787 Race Wins by 15 Racing Seasons it Averages 52.5 Wins per year - for 15 years!

It’s important to acknowledge that our first 4 seasons we simply didn’t have the number of horses on our books to achieve this marker, and it took us four (4) seasons to get to the volume under management to compete.

For the record, our first year of 2004-2005 we had 9 winners, followed by: 21 winners in 05-06, 33 winners in 06-07 and 40 winners in 07-08.

Our Third KPI to ensure growth, is we strive to achieve a Higher Win tally than the previous season.

In the 2022-23 Season we achieved 58 Race Wins, therefore we improved in the 2023-24 Season by an additional 4 victories.

Amongst our 62 photos on the wall in 2023-24, we are delighted that 22 of these (35.5%) were Metropolitan Winners.

Ten (10) were Saturday Winners, 11 Mid-Week and 1 Public Holiday Meeting.

We won Group 2 and Group 3 races, had placings at Gr1 level, set two (2) Class Records on Saturday’s (one in Sydney and one in Brisbane), whilst our marvellous mare I AM ME won the $2 million Sydney Stakes on Everest Day banking $1,156,500 for her Owners from this race alone.

I AM ME has now won 9 races from 21 starts and 5 placings for a total of $2,526,850.

Another Dynamic milestone was achieved on the 20th January 24. That day we clocked-up our 300th Individual Winner from 338 Individual Runners at a Strike Rate of 88.8% Winners:Runners.

Since then, we have advanced to 304 Individual Winners from 344 Individual Runners at a Strike Rate of 88.4%.

Also amongst our results was the continual progression of our “All-Ladies Ownership” Horses.

We have achieved wonderful results with these horses in past years, and during 23-24 our Ladies Horses were spearheaded by the tremendous efforts of HARD TO SAY (Jason Deamer) who won 5 Metropolitan Races across Sydney (3) and Brisbane (2) during the year, including two Class Records and a Feature Win of the $300,000 Choisir Hcp at Randwick on Melbourne Cup Day.

Overall HARD TO SAY who was a $160,000 yearling has won $657,000 with 7 wins and 4 placings from 22 starts. He was also Gr3 placed twice during the year.

The all-ladies horses also includes highly promising RAPT (Jason Deamer) who has won 3 races and 6 placings from 13 starts and won back-to-back races including the Feature Grafton Guineas at her most recent start.

As of 1st August 2024, our 2024 Yearling purchasers officially become 2YO’s and the excitement of the new 2yo racing season, which commences on the October long weekend is coming into focus.

We deliberately purchased less yearlings in 2024 compared to the past years based upon our philosophy we wanted to have the best quality available, offering tremendous value for money, so our owners may increase their opportunity of racetrack success.

When wider economic fundamentals are contracting, always deliver quality over quantity.

With the record prizemoney available to Owners, its vital to be in the Winner’s Circle and to achieve this, we only deal with the Best of the Best.

That is: Best Horses on Type; Best horses on Generics, by the Best Sires; from Best Female Families; given to the Best Trainers; after being broken-in and educated by Australia’s Best Horseman; at the Best Horse Facilities. We engage the Best Farriers, Best Veterinarians; Best Riders; to deliver our Owners the Best Results the individual horse can achieve.

JASON DEAMER who for Team Dynamic is like having our own “Private Trainer” as 10 of his 11 boxes at Newcastle are permanently occupied by Dynamic Syndications owned horses. Jason delivers for our owners a Winning Strike Rate of 21.2% and Placed of 48.5%.

GAI & ADRIAN who had another stellar season finishing 2nd on the NSW Trainers Premiership at 20.2% and 2nd on the Sydney Premiership at 17.7%.

MICK PRICE & MICK KENT Jnr had a highly successful season for their owners. They finished Seventh (7th) Australia at a Strike Rate of 16.6%

CHRIS MUNCE Racing – finished Sixth (6th) on the Brisbane Premiership at a Strike Rate of 12.6%

MICHAEL HICKMOTT – finished Fourth (4th) on the Adelaide Premiership at a strike rate of 15.2%. Michael has his own private facility on the outskirts of Murray Bridge where he achieved excellent success. He only has a smaller stable and prides himself of placing horses to advantage rather than running a large volume of runners. This hands-on approach suits the Dynamic Syndications business model and ensures our owners horses get the TLC they deserve.

Following-on from being with the best trainers, our Success is based upon the due-diligence work undertaken by Team Dynamic at the very beginning of horse selection.

Amongst the thousands of yearlings offered for sale each year. We analyse each yearling’s pedigree - to firstly determine those we consider have the genetic opportunity to be a success. This data is captured via the various Racing Jurisdictions around the world.

We search and collate data emanating from certain Sire lines over certain Broodmare Sire lines in certain environmental locations to identify patterns that repeat producing stakes class horses as a total percentage against the whole horse racing population to identify any genetic “nick” offering higher success rates.

It’s not obvious information, we have to deep-dive into research to deliver a result which lies within specific parameters. We only physically inspect yearlings that sit within our pre-determined parameters based upon many years of analytical research.

Next, with our list of acceptable genetic candidates, we then do the hard yards of the first round of physical inspections from our qualified list of candidates. Once we remove yearlings that we considered unacceptable risks based upon conformation or other defects, we then have a short list to introduce to our Veterinarian, Dr Tim Roberts. Tim has worked with us for over 20 years to do our physical inspections on our shortlist and if he is satisfied on type, then Tim will read X-rays and review endoscopic evaluations, to remove any yearling candidate that has a conformation factor or other identified issue that may limit a yearling achieving the opportunity to race.

Our view is; unintentionally trainers can breakdown horses without any known issues, so do not buy any yearling with any obvious issues that multiplies those risks.

We then value each horse according to proven valuation techniques, economic, political, and other market factors.

We set strict ceiling prices upon to bid up to and won’t chase any yearling that sells beyond its acceptable commercial value.

Once we secure our yearlings, they are sent to Australia’s Number 1 Horseman – Shane Rose at Bimbadeen, where they will be broken-in, educated, spelled and then pre-trained by the best horseman available. This gives us the greatest insights early as to the progress of each youngster.

When they are considered ready, they are sent to their designated trainers to polish into gems.

It’s our due-diligence and teamwork that has delivered us over a term of 19 years, 304 individual Winners at an amazing Strike Rate of 88.4% which no other industry participant comes remotely close to achieving.

It’s not rocket science, nor is it black magic. It’s knowledge and many years’ experience achieved through hard work and discipline, matched by a network of incredible specialists, all leaders in their individual fields, working together for the one primary result of seeing Dynamic horses find their way into the Winner’s Circle for their Owners.

Our team all realise that without Owners there is no racing industry.

Breeders may produce the yearlings as a commodity, however if there is no one there to buy the yearlings, breeders soon go broke, and production ceases.

Then with no horses produced, there is no horses to race, and the industry withers.

Punters will always find something else to bet upon, but racing requires owners. They are the lifeblood of Australia’s third largest industry.

Whilst on the other side of the fence, Owners need racetrack success to ensure cashflow is derived from the record prizemoney on offer by our industry.

Therefore, Dynamic Syndications are rightly proud of our results for last season and our overall results.

However, we can’t live on resumes and memories.

It is never about yesterday’s wins, it’s always about tomorrows.

We must continue to achieve for all our owners success.
