Bang! Thirteen days after providing Dynamic Syndications with our 300th Individual Winner with Awesome Tycoon, trainer JASON DEAMER delivered Team Dynamic our 301st Individual Winner when we won Race 1 at Taree on Friday, the Hogan Plumbing Group Class 1 & Maiden Plate over 2018m with our 4yo mare LOVELY THOUGHTS (So You Think x Lovetrista).
LOVELY THOUGHTS was facing the starter for the second run in this preparation, straight up to the 2018m trip off a resumption run at 1600m first-up.
LOVELY THOUGHTS won with authority and set a New Track Record for the staying trip at Taree.
Importantly for her Owners, not only did this beautifully bred mare add a most valuable win to her pedigree page for her life as a broodmare post racing, but she is also eligible for BOBS Extra bonuses and earned an extra $5,625 on top of the $13,950 first prize cheque, banking a total of $19,575 first prize.
Ridden beautifully by our “go too” jet pilot Ash Morgan, the Dynamic Duo were extremely strong through the line to set the track record on a Soft 5 surface of 2:05.91.
This was LOVELY THOUGHTS sixth visit to the races and her first win along with a second placing over the same Track and Distance last prep.
JASON DEAMER is a magician with our Dynamic Syndications horses, and from his small, boutique stable complex of just 17 boxes at Newcastle, this season JASON is training at a staggering 23.0% Winners:Runners.
This season Jason has trained: 14 Winners (23.0%) and 16 Placegetters (49.2%) from 61 Runners.
13 of his 14 Winners were for our Dynamic Syndications Loyal Owners.
LOVELY THOUGHTS had drawn wide here in this event but it is such a long run down the home straight first time around for this distance, our instructions to Ash were that we just wanted our mare to be in a rhythm without over extending, knowing that we were up to 2018m second up and despite the fact we were confident that she had the necessary fitness foundation, we felt that if she over did it early she may have been venerable late. So get her into a rhythm and bowl along. We know she wants ground and the further the better but its about laying the right foundations and JASON DEAMER had her sparkling in the parade ring and our Dynamic mare ran accordingly.
As the gates crashed back, Ash from an outside barrier kept wide as the balance of the field worked over to the paint. It wasn’t until they had run 350m did Ash then steer across, and passing the winning post the first time, Ash had LOVELY THOUGHTS sitting in second spot, a length off the leader.
On paper the speed map looked as if it would be a dawdle, however that’s not how the race panned out, as the leader peeled off slick sectionals setting up the Track Record tempo.
Ash was content sitting at the tail of the leader, with the other two promising stayers including the $2.20 favourite OPUS sitting in the one/one on our back waiting to pounce.
The field strung out over a dozen lengths down the back straight and to the side of the course until the field started to make their moves from the 500m marker.
As the field started to swing into the home straight and they balanced for the run home with 350m left to run, LOVELY THOUGHTS had moved up to hit the front with her three peers gamely chasing.
It was a four-horse war until the 100m where the superior staying bloodlines shone through, and LOVELY THOUGHTS was powering through the line under hands and heels with the balance of the field now yielding ground until the camera flashed.
LOVELY THOUGHTS had posted a 1.1 length victory over Crusheen Lass with favourite Opus a Head further back in third, and nose back to Farraige.
JOB DONE!
It was a wonderful ride aboard a more than handy and promising staying mare who has just taken a bit of time to mature and be ready for these middle-distance assignments.
The future of our mare looks positive, and we expect to see quite a few more photos on the wall.
