Murwillumbah based trainer
Matthew Dunn was badly injured in a nasty training mishap this morning and as a result, will require facial surgery after being kicked in the face by a horse.
Matthew was working with veteran galloper Velrosso at his Murwillumbah stables when the horse lashed out.
Matthew’s wife Keira said that Matthew was in hospital at Tweed Heads and would see a specialist on Thursday.
"It is nothing that can't be fixed," Keira Dunn told Brisbane's RadioTAB.
Dunn suffered facial fractures and swelling in the incident and will be away from the track for an extended period but it is anticipated at this early stage that he will make a full recovery.
Matthew had trained 20 winners for Dynamic owners over the past 12 months.
On behalf of the Team at Dynamic Syndications, we wish Matthew a speedy and incident free recovery.
