VANDANGLE Scores a CLASS RECORD WIN Over 1700m Trip at Gold Coast

Dynamic 5YO Gelding VANDANGLE (by VANCOUVER from DANGLISSA GIRL) recorded Dynamic Syndications 28th Race Win and took his overall career summary to 12 Starts: 4 Wins: 2 Seconds: 2 Thirds with a powerful display at the Gold Coast on Saturday when he won Race 4, the DR UMED COSMETICS - Class 3 Handicap, over 1700m on a Good 4 surface in CLASS RECORD TIME.

Leading every stride from the time the gates crashed back, until he smiled for the camera, VANDANGLE posted a new best time marker for Class 3 horses over 1700m at 1:43.26 with a last 600m split of 35.95.

It’s amazing that he smashed the clock considering how easy he managed his assignment and was never under any pressure with seemingly with many lengths in reserve.

Our JACK BRUCE trained Dynamic galloper was rated perfectly by our go-to jet pilot Ryan Wiggins.

Such was their domination, that Ryan never asked VANDANGLE for his supreme effort at any stage, as the Dynamic Duo were only ever hands and heels for the length of the home straight.

Sent to the barriers as a $2.80 favourite after scratchings reduced the field to only 6 runners, it was no more than trackwork for VANDANGLE who was a class above his peers in this event.

Spreading the field out by 8 lengths after the first 400m, it was a procession from there until passing the 600m where Ryan increased the tempo.

That quickly got his chasers off the bit, and staying away from the worn section up close to the inside fence, Ryan steered a wide path around the home turn and balanced up wider on the track, closer to the outside fence. Ryan had done his homework and was convinced the best part of the track in the home straight was close to the outside fence, so steered out to his left and rolled home.

No other runner could mount a challenge and the win was extremely soft, allowing our Owners to bank the $13,400 first prize, whilst the $2.80 favourite had been backed in from $3.30 giving connections the easiest return on the punt.

The track had been rated a Soft 5 on the morning but was upgraded early to a Good 4 surface.

VANDANGLE had put the writing on the wall at his previous start, when having moved from Sydney to Brisbane, he was unlucky at his first effort at the 1700m trip, when finishing a close 0.3 length third at Ipswich.

With that run under his belt, he was always going to strip much fitter into this race at the Gold Coast, and the plan was to take bad luck out of the equation by leading against a substandard peer group and make them chase. We expected that they would come off the bit early and we wanted to make the race a test of stamina. That’s exactly how the race panned out and the Dynamic Duo were never in danger.

VANDANGLE has won Four (4) Races: 1400m (1); 1600m (3), 1700m (1), and the strength and ease of this assignment suggests that in his right grade he could get further still.

VANDANGLE (57.5kgs) ($2.80 fav) defeated 2nd placed Mauricently (58.0kg) by 1.8 Lengths with 3rd placed Daintree Diva (54.5kg) finishing 7.1 Lengths behind VANDANGLE.

VANDANGLE has now banked $17,900 for his past 2 runs and JACK BRUCE has the horse in fine order.

Certainly, making the switch from Sydney to Brisbane has given VANDANGLE a new lease on life and both his races north of the boarder have been terrific.

This is our third Individual Winner and our 5th Race Win in our colours this season JACK BRUCE has trained for Team Dynamic.

Jack has polished TOO MUCH CLASS to win 3 races, Graphite Mist to Win a race, and now Vandangle is also a Winner.
