Wow – Less than a week earlier, record sales were being posted at the
Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale with
22 horses making
$1m or more with an
average over $371,000 and a
Median of $280,000.
We have labelled the
bazaar feeding frenzy which was not based upon logical data nor valuation, but more about ego and self-platitudes and called it out for what it was - the
FOMO Effect (Fear Of Missing Out).
Now in the
coolness of reflection on what happened, the following weekend which included
Day 1 of The Championships in Sydney and Stakes races around Australia and across the ditch in NZ, proved what we already knew being
“horses don’t know how much you pay for them.”
Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics
A review of the past three days where
17 Black-Type Races were contested across
Australia and New Zealand proves one very important aspect –
“There are No Rules” when it comes to racetrack success.
As the saying goes there are
“Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics.”
Here are the sires that had progeny win stakes races:
Proven Sires Savabeel (2) So You Think, Zoustar, first-season sire Frosted, and these battling non-commercial sires: Nicconi, Ocean Park, Jakkalberry, Blackfriars, Dawn Approach, Street Boss, Iffraaj, Fiorente, Danerich, Shamus Award, New Approach and Makfi.
Of these 17 Stakes Winners only seven (7) were sold at Public Auction with prices of $300,000, $260,000, $100,000, $100,000, $30,000, $26,000 and $10,000.
Importantly from our own perspective,
Dynamic Syndications has purchase yearlings this year by SAVABEEL (Ciaron Maher & David Eustace), ZOUSTAR (Richard Freedman) and SO YOU THINK (Sold).
So then, WHO’S YOUR DADDY?

Acknowledging that horses don’t know how much you pay for them, there is no need to pay telephone numbers to buy yearlings.
It’s the quickest way to turn a big fortune into a small one.
Big Prices do not guarantee success. As long as due diligence is always conducted in the selection process, the horses are genetically well balanced and are passed as sound and right of wind and limb by a trusted veterinarian then you don’t need an oil rig in the backyard because everyone is equal on a racetrack.
Dynamic Syndications have available a super looking son of NZ Champion Sire SAVABEEL x PASSION CHEVAL being trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace.
