WRITTEN TYCOON Records his 28th Stakes Winner with TYZONE

Written Tycoon sired his 28th Stakes Winner on Saturday when the Gold Coast's premier jockey Ryan Plumb scored his biggest win at the track with tough galloper TYZONE.

Already a twice stakes placed winner of 14 races, this was Tyzone’s 15th Win and his first Stakes Win.

The winner of 14 previous races, Tyzone charged down the outside to beat Malvern Estate and Freddie Fox Trot in the Listed Goldmarket Stakes (1200m).

The Goldmarket was originally meant to be run at the Gold Coast Jewel meeting the week prior however this event was one of three races to be washed out. It was transferred to Saturday 23rd which created problems with jockeys who had been booked for the race.

One jockey to suffer was apprentice Jag Guthmann-Chester, who was held to the ride on Kubis at Eagle Farm where the metropolitan meeting was held. Whilst Kubis won at Eagle Farm, that gave the opportunity to Ryan Plumb to ride Tyzone.

Tyzone's trainer Toby Edmonds said of the Goldmarket win by Tyzone: "It was bad luck for Jag, but Ryan got the job done. Tyzone is starting to get up in the weights for these type of races but we will look for a few things for him in the winter," Edmonds said.
