Last Saturday at Rosehill, the Chris Waller trained Relaxed And Happy earned stable bragging rights when it was this win that brought up the milestone’s of 150 Sydney Metropolitan wins for the trainer and his 200th overall this racing season.
Earlier in the day, Waller had trained Clever Boy to win at Newcastle to set things up for Relaxed And Happy who led all the way in his win of the Freshworld Handicap (1200m). There is no time for Waller to rest on his laurels with runners everywhere keeping him busy as he powers to a third Sydney premiership and the aim to break the Sydney Metropolitan record of 156 wins. He followed up the win of Relaxed And Happy with Sydney Winners: Tidbit and Said Com.
As of Tuesday morning 18 June, with still 43 days remaining in this racing season, Chris Waller has trained:
152.5 Sydney Metropolitan Winners
171.5 Metropolitan Winners Australia Wide
203.5 Winners Total
"I try to place the horses where they can win," Waller said.
"That's my job. I can't change much but just keep trying to win money for the owners."
Waller recently opened a Melbourne stable to complement his large Rosehill operation and to help separate his horses so they are not always running against each other. However clashes are unavoidable and Waller makes no apologies for dominating the fields.
"Third and fourth prize money pays the bills," he said.
"Second prize money is outstanding and first pays for the training for a year.
"I could leave them at home but then I'm not doing my job for the owners."
Dynamic Syndications are delighted that we are a closely aligned with the Waller Team.
During the Dynamic USA fact finding trip we were not surprised to see how Chris’ reputation is
"so well regarded" that
“they have named a street after him !”
We have our fingers crossed it will be a Dynamic runner that records his 157th Sydney winner this season.
