Yulong Stud present a seven-stallion roster chock-full of exceptional sire power for the 2023 breeding season. They have also announced their Champion Sire WRITTEN TYCOON will be restricted to a very small number of outside bookings in 2023, allowing Yulong to manage his career longevity, as he moves towards his twilight years.

Written Tycoon will stand for a Private Fee this 2023 breeding season, as the rising 21-year-old enters the twilight of his brilliant stallion career with the firm belief that we are still likely to see his best progeny is yet to come through.
“Written Tycoon is a Champion in every way, and we are taking special care of him as he ages,” said Yulong Stud Operations Manager - Sam Fairgray.
“Only a handful of outside mares will be bred to him this season. Written Tycoon has been a fantastic stallion and if we can keep breeding some nice foals by him then we’ll be thrilled.”
His Royal Ascot-bound multiple Group 1 Winning daughter Coolangatta is continuing to fly his flag at the very top level.
So far this season, Written Tycoon has sired 137 Australian Winners. Just two stallions, I Am Invincible (161) and Zoustar (145) have sired more Australian Winners this 2022-23 season.
The Champion Sire has a bumper rising 2-year-old crop coming through next season, off the back of his one-off year, where his current yearlings were conceived at Australia’s leading thoroughbred nursery Arrowfield Stud in the Hunter Valley. That one-of season made his current crop of yearlings eligible for BOBS & BOBS Extra.
“Never Before and Never Again” will that be the case for the Champion sire’s progeny. That’s been a huge lure in 2023 for yearling buyers to invest in his high-quality progeny.
Written Tycoon returned to Yulong Stud in Victoria, where he has served the elite of Yulong’s brilliant broodmare band over the last two seasons, so with the Arrowfield Stud crop followed by the best of the best from Yulong, and now for 2023, only limited numbers of outside elite broodmares are allowed to go to him for service, now is the time to invest in his yearlings because the future is most exciting for Written Tycoon and his progeny are set for a spike in value, over the coming years.
